I wish windshield laws are more lax. My Blazer have big cracks in its windshield for 4 to 5 years now with no ill effects.

Tuner messing with emission monitors or emission components themselves are messing up?

tuner been disconnected for at least a tank of fuel.

it has a historic code thats pending for regen freq too high but i cant clear it.  (no CEL)

i have watched it regen at least 6 times.  web said 3 times it should set 4 more monitors.

My best guess some towing miles w/o tuner should help with that regen "too frequent" pending code

it regens about every 15 minutes at speed, more if you let it idle.

either the tuner has broken components or i need to get that historic code cleared before it will be happy and run the tests.  not going to let it bother me, is what it is.

Ram 4500/5500 Diesel
For 5 years or 100,000 miles, whichever
first occurs:
1. If any emission-related part on your truck is defective,
the part will be repaired or replaced by FCA US. This is
your SHORT-TERM EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM
DEFECTS WARRANTY.

NOTE: Where applicable with covered parts, associated
plumbing, mounting hardware, gaskets, O-rings, and wiring
harnesses are covered.

SHORT-TERM EMISSION-RELATED PARTS:
4500/5500 Ram Diesel
• Diesel Oxidation
Catalyst
• Exhaust Valve
• Diesel Particulate Filter • EGR Cooler
• SCR Catalyst • EGR Valve
• DEF Tank & Lines • Engine Control Module
• Exhaust Manifold • Fuel Pressure Sensor
• Charge Air Cooler • Fuel Pump
• Turbocharger • Injector

looks like exhaust manifold and gasket should be covered under short term emmissions warranty.  The Long term components or terms is not clearly defined for 4500 / 5500 only 3500.

mike do you know much about the waste gate on these trucks?  some of the forum threads say soot clogs and sticks open / sticks closed?  could mine be stuck closed and thats why it has over boost codes?

i guess i have 4 weeks to try somethings, or to just order a new truck haha

first: there is no wastegate.

the vanes on any variable geometry turbo can get sticky with age, usually on vehicles that are babied or sit for long periods.

you know you don't have sticky vanes - the exhaust brake does things. if the vanes were stuck it couldn't do anything.

I don't know if it's possible for vanes to partially stick? Seems to me it should be all or nothing. Could you have a sensor problem? Do you see high boost? My truck maxes at 29, I rarely see more than 27. I thought I remembered yours being lower than that.

Holy crap. I'm hard on my turbo lol

I think there's a "cleaning port" on the turbo to decarbon it.
