and as soon as that battery tray was out, I see the sea of wiring disaster, cobbed onto again and again and never labeled or culled for 9 long years....

All standing between where the filter must go and the MAF.

I totally planned to rewire the car this week too.

It really shouldn't be that bad. Just need to get a fuse block I can agree with mounted on the dash side and clean up years of abandoned wiring. All the gauges I replaced are still mounted and installed and half wired. I don't think I've removed a single wire from that car since I got it. The shame burns.

that 6.0 is going is sound bad ass.  hope your exhaust treats it as well as mine does :)

3 morons blabing about shit in my lab right now for 35 min, i am about to go home because i have finished all my work and we have 3 cells open because someone runs this lab way better now....

I left early yesterday. probably will continue to do so...

I'm planning to put my Magnaflow 3" from the Dakota on it. I expect it to sound very mellow and be a total sleeper. Have to get the floor out to get that muffler in the subframe, it's about 2" too big for available holes. I'm sure I need the floor out to get the tcase out anyway. 2 more bolts and the siren and it's free.

Drained trans last night, I think I really wish Jim had time to look at it. I think it needs clutches. I'm at least going to put a fresh filter in it and clean the pan. 3 hard years, I'm not surprised. Fair amount of friction material in that fluid and one small chunk on the magnent. Leak source was the hold down bolt for the TV cable.

Fuse and relay holders will arrive Thursday.

Have a nearly new slip male on another junk driveshaft. I think I need to buy a new 1350 yoke to match it but I haven't gone through the other pile. Then make it into a complete rear shaft. driveline noise was play between shaft and carrier bearing in front, that'll need some sort of shim for ID/OD tolerance, and the loose outputs on the tcase.

Need at minimum fresh belts and install fuel cell foam to do U4 at AOAA, and see where my weight sits to see if it's even possible (if scales are scaling). Not sure I can quite get er dun. feeling the squeeze big time.

Need to find a home for the battery and get that rewired, may need to go to a smaller battery.
Will need to make a new firewall on the passenger side.
Probably make a new dash panel since gauges are going to come out.

I think I still have a 1350 female end kicking around. I can bring it to the meeting.

Regards the battery situation; I remembered a thread on pirate 4x4. Maybe a bit too ‘small’?
I think this battery will work as long as you’re running the AD244 alternator to have enough juice for winching???

Yeah I'll definitely get you that spare yoke back. Haven't pulled that shaft yet.

Planning on a pair of those little guys if I can't find a home for the group 34 unit. One would be fine when everything is working right, but it's like 20% of the battery capacity I've been used to.

Hmm, come to think of my brolite thoughts, I might need to put a second battery in and move them to each side of the fuel cell aalllll the way at the tail. I was thinking of ways to add rear weight. And delete the alternator.

I know why the injectors on the 6.0 were shot

That dusty rust is all falling out of the rail. Fuel lines and or tank must have been shedding rust big time on that truck.

Trans probably has to come out to get the tcase out.

Air filter prob has its home. Need a 45* elbow to lock it in 100%

Holy fuck that wiring was a disaster. 1/3 of it was culled, unused. 1/3 of it is scotchlocked into the final 1/3. Going to have to trace some to figure out wtf it does. Gonna just be super fun in a shop where I can barely walk around the car

Minor injury working on stupid muffler.

trans runs at reasonable temps, generally 200ish if I recall right, hot for it is 220 or maybe 230, I think that's when I have the light come on and seeing the light is super rare. maybe once per year?

has two good stacked plate coolers up front. with separate fans. first is behind power steering second is in cool air.
