ADS shocks under construction. Shipping Monday via 2 day. Aluminum for front links arrives Monday. Need to check tracking on RuffStuff. I expect hiems Tuesday I think

Smike, are you up for some lathing Monday?

Belt and tensioner in hand. Thank you aire

Gonna wrap up accessories and coolers, then look at shock mount and front upper link mount changes.

Goal for monday is to be lacking shocks, front upper links and swaybar links and maybe tie rods, and be in need of charging bump stops with N2.

Need to hit tsc for 1/2 and 3/4 hardware.

Last minute motorsports :-/

lathe is good to go- you have your 1" tooling you need or whatever?  Happy to instruct, it requires arms and good back though for 1.25"  lol  it will power thread 7/8 or 5/8" easy though

like i said i have taps and bits for 5/8, 7/8 and 1.25"  LH and RH

Matts car needs to get loaded this weekend after the front shaft carrier bearing situation gets rebuilt tonight.  I wont be in the shop sunday or tuesday, rolling at noon on wed.

monday night ill be around.

Steering and accessories all wrapped up.

Think I flipped a port on the orbital, can’t turn left. Pretty sure I swapped return and left. Every time I touch those hoses I mix them up!

Taking 3-4 days off this week to put a bow on it.

I’ll see you tomorrow night for some lathe lessons.  I probably won’t bring the car if it’s raining. Depends how far I on other items tomorrow too.

Have a few line routing and mount welding cleanup items on trans coolers, finishing steering, a truss trim, swaybar everything, shock mount adjustments, and a hood adjustment. May make a new one if I have time - steering resi is much too high with the higher pump to clear.

1.5 turns lock to lock with crap ackerman
Or
2.2 turns with factory ackerman?

I was going to makea note of previous setup lock to lock, I think it was 2.5? Probably is somewhere earlier in the thread.

fancy roadracing angles are not important in your application

1.5 seems tight and will build a lot of heat in your system racing, and will be worse than mine crawling with stock pump.   2.2 is slow.

i dont know haha

aluminum come in? still planing on coming over tonight (at a decent hour)?

Ackerman still makes a difference in how badly it’ll push even when spooled.

I’d prefer around 1.8 turns. I think I’ll be wishing for more pump flow either way. Feels a little sluggish at idle.

Alu came in a few hours ago. Final lengths assessed for all but one place.  Debating fastenal now or weds for more 3/4 bolts. Not happy with threading lengths on the 12” bolt, need a hard spacer under the 3/4“ joint and cannot use a nut - not enough thread. Have anything 3/4 ID? I would have to grind down washers, don’t have anything else I’d trust to be hard

I did have spacers under the 7/8 bolts. I see no marks from heims bottoming on the arms. I think it may have just been lack of top locks plus old heims.

I hear a mail truck. Heim joints ho!
