Are you allowing the oil to burn for a while to heat your bowl/pan up before you add air.once everything is hot enough, even if you run lean the bowl will continue to ignite the oil

if i pour like a 1/2 cup of diesel in it takes off and does what i want.  cant get only oil to just maintain any kind of good burn the size im looking for.

time does not matter- will go from cherry orange pot to no flame.  im using stainless.

im going to try a different air inlet tube thats smaller.

i know its just going to take some tweaking, i almost had it working fairly well sustained before the bounce house blower died.

what does your air and oil feed tubes look like, did you copy  someones elses design?any doubt the oil has been mixed with other nonflammable liquids.

Add a feature that preheats the oil before it enters the combustion chamber? Lower viscosity and bring closer to ignition temp.

i was wondering if my oil is junk.  so i dumped in straight new 20w-50 and same results.

i have a 2" air inlet with a curve going into a gallon size stainless steel pot mid side entry to promote swirl.  3/8 tube in side the 2" for oil.

will do more reading.  i think i want to get away from the pot style and try a plate or tube burner setup.

need to just spend more time on it.  cold sucks

Wonder if 2" is too big for mattress pump, mine was 1 1/4" with the 3/8" inside , I did have a problem with air blowing directly at the oil which I capped of the 1 1/4" with just a hole for the oil feed

ran about 6 or 8 gallons though this thing.  my oil was junk and full of sludge.  ran some of the stuff nick dropped off and it fired right up.

ready for heat exchange tubes and upper fan to start reclaiming some real head out of this thing.

i think this is version 3.0     i now can pull down the stack temp and keep the lower barrel not orange.

it was 24 outside tonight when i shut down, and was 45 between my lift posts after 2hours run time.

still lots of room for improvement but i think there is some hope this might actually be not a waste of time and 200$
