my first jeep was a 95 4.0 with same 42RE trans.

the TCM failed and it stuck in 3rd all the time.

sounds like a different issue, but just FYI.

The 95 have a separated module for the trans? I thought they're controlled by the PCM.

I had to manually shift my 47re from Denver>Las Vegas>Phoenix when the governor transducer broke on it. At least it was mostly on highway haha. Bah.

OBD I were weird, separate TCM on all the electronic transmissions 95 and down as I recall. I think that may be just 94-95 or maybe back to 93? hazy on that.

guess this thing has a factory alarm.

i locked doors with door button, came back unlocked driver door with key, horn beep and antitheft 2 seconds motor run only.

key lock and unlock to driver door like my 5.9 98 did not turn it off.  google let me know on 97 limited you have to lock and unlock the passenger door WTF

smooth cruse control at 70 no issues on thruway.  love this thing.

win.

Yeah. Everyone on I-90 drove like they have a woman in labor on our way back in town. How can it be fun to drive like that?

new header pannel and 6 new lights installed.  had to pull ARB bumper
headlight switch swapped, does the same thing, only interior night lights come on when you push on or near it
center console lid with working latch swapped.
rear plate light fixed.  had to pull hatch plastics and fix a break in the wire harness.   not even sure how i found it but got lucky.
front left shock bushing changed
right swaybar disconnect fixed
steering stabilizer mount to tie rod fixed
horns connected back up
head lights adjusted.

whats left:
no obvious evap issues at canister, lines, or tank
dome light no work from any door when doors opened, but works of you turn them on
HTR control
hatch calendars
rear brakes screech 100% of time after sitting, no noise on lift odd.
headliner glue up spots

Dome light:
If you press and hold the rear light lens it will toggle between having the dome light come on with the door open and never coming on when the door opens.

no go with dome lights.  may have to do with rear dome never comes on, bulb looks good.
front inner fenders pounded in for 35" turning full lock.
rear brakes disassembled and seized ebrake hardware freed up and lubed.
ebrake adjustor in seized and ebrakes adjusted and working.
tank dropped all looks good but found pump nut retainer ring pretty loose.  tightened and cleared code.

tires sold for 180 that came with this unit.  mismatched bald dry rot 33's on jeep wheels.  100$ in wheels 10$ in rubber.

investment down to 620$ for this unit    8)
