With a whole front carrier, tight Spicer joints and untwisted chromoly axles I clearly drive too easy.

Got on the Fox racing program. Will be ordering new bumps and shocks. Ideally doing bypass c/o combo all around. We need to hit the whoops hard if I make it into KOH and my backup plan is 4400 class in 2016 Mint 400. BITD is way more organized and legitimate than Ultra4 and Timmy is already planning on going back next year. And no rocks! 8)

No go on Maxxis race program, no surprise I'm still a noob.

Current action items for Badlands (whew):

New rear bumper that doesn't suck
Replace loose heims
Build spare driveshafts
New Optima Red Top (or something else, apparently they suck now?)
Bigger radiator style trans cooler
Move radiator behind our heads
Pumpers
Lower hood line, order shocks and bumps
Trail Ready wheels drilled deeper
T case shifters
OBD 2 check
Mount treps and buy three more spares (oof!)
3/4 ton brake conversion
Weight loss (firewall, floor, links)
New Skid plate HDPE
Brown Paint!!! Ha!

ignoring the optima debate (yes they suck now) why would you not go for a deep cycle or marine mixed cycle battery? a couple winching sessions with a dead motor that kill your battery flat dead will destroy a starting battery. Letting your car sit with a parasitic draw for a month or two to flat dead a few times will destroy a starting battery. a deep cycle is mean to go down to 10v over and over, and we generally don't need huge spike draws to start our engines.

I'm completly sold on deep cycle for wheeling and mixed use rigs. Just some food for thought.

only the yellow top is meant for winch and heavy draw use, the red is still considered a starting battery

Same external dims.

Non-optima may be different. Not sure if the excide spiral cell are exact match or not.

I use DieHard Platinum Marine Battery Group Size 31M.  1150 Cold cranking amps.

I had one in the Jtruck   The dash winch switch shorted in the rain over night and engaged the winch to pull.  The hook was on the Bumper D ring.   It tried to pull until the winch motor over heated and melted.   Truck started the next morning.   That battery is 10 years old and still in service in my enclosed trailer.

I bought a new one for my buggy.     They are unstoppable.   But heavy as F#$K!    75 lbs  i think.

Smikes yellow top was not the same ext dims, we checked when I built the box. This red top has never let me down since 08 in the YJ and the buggy. Timmy was running some trick batteries at the Mint, I will have to inquire.
