MMTR Brolite
« Reply #435 on: July 03, 2021, 10:24:23 PM »
No luck in Marketplace hunting. I think rangers as late as 2009 will have when I’m after so maybe j&j… probably end up with a 31sp and won’t be able to use my spool or something.

I’ll have to see if I can repair the one I ripped off. It hadn’t been rotted out so maybe. I haven’t really looked at it.

Humbug.

Stupid move.

this is the TC pump 90? to return fitting for a remote resi https://www.lsxconcepts.com/products/saginaw-type-ii-tc-series-90-degree-power-steering-return-fitting

and this is the shit -6 AN kit that I have a leaking fitting from that I can't actually recommend. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XXYBNWB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Didn’t notice the condition of the 8.8 mini spool when I took the axle apart. All chips were in the diff so all damage is new from my use.

Musta been real cheap shit. Was new out of box with the axle.

turns out it was a good thing for me that we called off the race. moved this today and it dumped all sorts of coolant and power steering fluid. Appears I didn't get a good seal on the braided hose when I replaced the bad AN fitting, and I may have to look for a crack in the radiator inlet. That is definitely the source, and the hose feels good and I cranked down the clamp. not sure wtf is going on there yet.

Coolant leak was power steering pully kissing rad hose. Had a couple hairline slices.

Shortened rad inlet and trimmed hose.

Redid ps pressure hose. Hopefully fixed?

Coolant leak duplicated.

Also apparently under-spec’d my trans mount.

Trans mount rebuilt. Tons of clearance to rad hose now. Expect that issue won’t triplicate but will find out Saturday!

so, discovered today looking for 8.8 bearings /seals National and timkin make a fix it bearing with integrated seal that may have worked in the above axle failure that destroyed the seal bore.

https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1119537&cc=1438302&pt=1672&jsn=538

20$ seal and hammer the backing plate might have been good enough for a bro!

I had enough of a circle left there that I RTV'd and sent it. that's a good option if it starts leaking or kicks the seal out though!

backing plate was ripped clean off, didn't have an option on that bit. still annoyed I had to actually build it and couldn't just spend $30 but it seemed to work out. more payoff on the plasma cutter and Ryan's stack of box covers from a decade ago

Long term rear tire leak found. Valve stem. Not Schraeder but stem to wheel. Haven’t seen that on an aluminum, but it was a sharp edge that shaved down the stem just a tiny bit.
