Radiator protection as such installed. Double thick chicken wire across the core support. Hopefully it’ll plug and shake loose if things are thick enough that the radiator will plug. Time will tell!

I did forget to put that forgotten nut on. And to straighten my hood pin. So a sneeze more left to do.

Looks like rad leak is from where that dumb plastic pile enters the water pump. Also noticed front tubes to main cage broken both sides.

can't find a listing for just the small o-ring. seems to only come with water pumps.

I've never had fantastic results measuring an o ring and ordering blind. ever.

the new red and blew case oring kits at HF are fantastic, i have all 4 of them.  i was able to find a new oring for Jeffs trucks and installed with RTV as lube.

yup i welded some cracked tubes on mine too.

Cage cracks fixed. Trans mount should be here tomorrow. Nothing else needed that I know of.

No drips from 2x o rings plus black RTV with 24hr cure time before coolant was added.

Issue at the steering box with my AN adaptor. Fitting is tight but swivel is leaking pretty badly. I hate the way those AN fittings work. Real aircraft quality ones have to be better than these.

looks like there are LOTS of different lengths of axle shafts, but at least Summit lists many of them as in stock so should be a quick fix once I learn exactly how they're measured. I need some proper lug nuts for my other wide rear wheels too, definitely bent the wheel

I think this should be trustworthy. Ford axle dimensions from Dutchman.
https://dutchmanaxles.com/images/sr-c-clip/SR-CC-Ford-Truck.pdf

I put it into Excel for filtering, and it seems to say that all 8.8 are 31 spline.

I think I'll find it's a 95-98 Explorer. I think the newer were slightly wider with the disk brakes.

wouldnt it be easier just to find a junkyard ranger axle and swap the entire axle?

May end up looking for one to get parts from, though. 10" drum replacement backing plates aren't available, only 9". At $150 in the rock auto cart without the backing plate, and do have some pretty significant tip-of-the-axle housing damage to consider. The bearing is fine, and three of the 4 brake mounting bolts are fine, but the tip of the axle tube past the bearing got significantly torn up.
