Well I think I got all the bugs worked out.    Buggy felt very solid yesterday.


To do list:

Change out the engine break in oil for full synthetic oil.

Build removable spare tire carrier.

Move gas pedal over 1"

Grip tape on floors.

ya, between hood work, computer, harness, headers, and trans adaptor, new engine mounts, exhaust work, id probably be thinking the same thing-

Found my failure:

Turns out that my super fancy removable subframe/skid plate was not up to the task.  It looks like it took a huge hit right in front of the tranny mount and bent the whole belly upward.  The transfer case was mounted closer to the cross member so it did not move.  The motor mounts are crazy strong so they did not move.

So it was like breaking a stick over your knee.  It point loaded in the middle.    "SNAP"

on the bright side it's an explainable failure, I always look at that as a good thing.

I picked up another 4L60E.  So im going to give this drivetrain setup another try.

I like the lower gearing combo of the tranny and case.

Just need to over build the subframe this time.

Speaking of,   Smike can you get any size / wall tube?

not sure yet.   I just got the motor / tranny out.     

Maybe 1-5/8 x .25" wall     (2) sticks
