Smike would know better than I how their shipping works. I know shit comes from so cal.

Left Chris a vm as I was leaving town, no call back. Oh well. There's always next week. For a little while anyway.

Aluminum showed for steering and sway bar links.

should be a 4x4x3' pallet of carfully wrapped shocks from fox.

Matts shipping was over 500 through ups individually.  figure freight couldnt be more than 250

Just talked to chris. Shocks finally ordered.

Probably looking at an uncomfortably long lead time. Like 3-4 weeks optimistically. Apparently Fox changed up their inventory and ordering system at year end and its STILL screwed.

Boo. 5.5 weeks to line mountain. 2.5 weeks to what I’d hoped to do for a shakedown. I guess thats shot.

He’ll look at shipping and try to get me some numbers to compare freight but if lead times are as bad as indicated I may pay to not wait the extra couple days. Boo.

Many times freight is faster than UPS/FedEx ground, so don't expect that it's always the slowest route.

UPS ground takes 6-7 days to get to California from GA.   Freight would take 3 days or so, from GA.

Thinking about trying to improve front clearance.
First things first: adjust front axle position to passenger to get it centered and get the yoke off the skid at full bump.

Then, remove the PS pump and bump stop spacers and see if I can get more stuff if the PS pump is out of the way. I think it's the only clearance issue, along with a sneeze of motor mount trimming.

I think the first pic below is my current mounting, the second doesn't seem far off and might be enough but the width may be an issue. I've also seen a passenger head mounted alternator, with a high power steering pump. I actually like the last option the best though, truck alt mounting with a 4" higher PS pump. All these relocation issues mean swapping to a CBR or TC pump though with a totally different resi setup.

goatbuilt has all these options. decent pictures too - and cheaper than the first fleabay hit I found. https://goatbuilt.com/product-category/products/gm-power-steering-pump-relocation-brackets/

Ram mounts will make contact.

Remove old front lower rad support
Move trans cooler up
Move steering cooler
Trim motor mount “fuck you plate” and maybe add internal gusset (which I think will be in the way for motor removal with trans attached but okay with trans off)

Plasma and lift would be useful...

Question is whether to switch from p pump to tc/cbr and have the option to keep driver side alt or to madandate passenger alt and have the option to keep a P pump

okay. decisions made.

P pump is staying and moving up on the driver side. I was really considering moving the alt to the passenger side for visibility... but it would make mounting the PS resi more difficult, and extra expense.

also ordered 11.3ci orbital to improve steering lock-to-lock.

weeeeee

Last thing I'd really like to have handled before the weekend is material in hand for swaybar mounting.

ADS can build you shocks in a week, typically. We had our shipped Next Day Air, which was awesome, but I haven't looked at what it ended up on my UPS invoice.
