I found an aluminum jam nut solution I REALLY like. I don't think 928 and 572 are having any aluminum link/heim joint issues after some serious use, but I think you guys know I like complex solutions to problems that don't exist...

Lately I have been making stainless rings with an inside taper of 10' against the same tie rod end taper. The stainless ring stands out from the the end of the tie rod maybe 1/8". Then the jam nut sucks the threads down on the TRE's and locks the whole connection. They have never come loose, and I usually clock the TRE's to bind for better control.

I only make one cut in the tie rod and almost all of the TRE is into the tie rod. The stainless ring needs good radius's to not create stress risers in the aluminum. I only use 7075-T6 aluminum. The small inside end of the ring has to meet up with the jam nut.

Wouldn't the alum nut gaul on the steel tre or heim?
I never wanted a red car.. always thought they were tacky and common...
I now have 4 very not common cars and they are all red.. :o

I'm pretty sure all other aluminum links that have been done so far here are just counting in standard jam nuts. My concern is thread play letting them pull out very quickly compared to steel - and inability to tack the jam nuts as mine are now.

4 shocks pulled. almost there to enough info to order things.

a pair of 14" Kings used for mockup only with 150/150 showed up on Pirate, heading to check lengths now, I don't think they're enough longer to make up for the length issues up front though.

The Kings are essentially the same length. Have to go to 16s up front or change mounts significantly. Nbd.

With shocks pulled my current full-bump lengths are just under 26” up front and a very negotiable 23.75” out back.

Rear 150/200 free length 29.25 full droop 28.125 ride height 20.625 (6.75" shaft & uptravel)

All measures include 5/8" dual rate slide.

Front shocks angle 5* in 2* back
Rear shocks angle 7* in 7* back

Links c-c
FU 33"
FL 45"
RU 37 7/8"
RL 38 7/8"

No thoughts on the alternative jam nuts? Just lock tite  the shit out of it all and call it good?

Do I care about any dimensions for swaybar shit?

Old news. Remember I tweaked the shit out of a spring when a shock broke, and swapped in the lightest thing Jeff had sitting around?

You have taps for 3/4 heim joints for 7075 swaybar links?

You running 5/8 or 7/8? I was planning on 3/4 with misalignment to 1/2” bolts.
