Looking at it in Lowe’s now. 61.50/500’ for 12ga. Idk what wire size I need.

Probably 10 for the welder/phase converter outlets and 12 or 14 for normal 15a stuff. Looking at what’s here to get an idea of a list.

3/4” conduit is 6.55/10’
1” is 11.28
1/2” is 3.75

Wow that’s a difference. Makes sense though.

10 for welder 12 for everything else.  use all 20amp outlets and switches, all metal conduit

Grabbed a bunch of things minus wire and conduit. Should let me lay it out and see what else I need. And sanity check if 1/2” will work for 10awg runs. Seems barely big enough?

Conduit size rally only matters when pulling wire. Shop should be all 12g, if possible. Could use 14g for lighting as long as its on its own 15a circuit. Really just easier to buy and run 12g for everything.

should be able to fit 3 10g and 3 12g in a 1/2" but thats about it i think.

i good fish tape and lube helps.  i have a fancy outlet cover with rollers that helps a lot if your pulling solo.

Just pulled back the 240v I’m not going to use. That all will get reused for the range, i think. They pulled (3) 8awg for the 240 plus a separate 12awg ground even though it’s all steel conduit and box to the steel panel box. Of all the rest that’s in steel, only the lighting contactor run has a ground wire.

I can push the (3) 8awg through the 3/4 conduit that is already run. I just pushed about 10’ of it. Not quite enough to get to the first J box, but around both bends, and it frees up by 1 wire after that.

I’ll match the 8 & 12 awg THHN that’s in use. No reason to adjust from a good thing.

Either of you have a conduit bender, or should I just buy the couple 90s I’ll need?

Good plans made. Shopping list made. I don’t need much. I don’t think I even need everything I bought today.

Just need to price shop wire tomorrow and figure out proper power feeds to the machines.

For machine power I’ve got 2 pieces of I think 10-3 solid, with ground, one in sealtite the other naked. Came with the lathe and are what I tested things with.

I’ve got the 10-3 stranded no ground that was my welder supply at Norman. Seems perfect, but no ground. Use that and run a separate 12ga ground wire? That’s my inclination.

Lowes appears to be the way to go, I'm shocked.

beats Depot by ~$2
beats Waytek by ~$30
beats Amazon by ~$5 depending on vendor, and Amazon search SUCKS for that sort of thing. can't "-solid" and just get rid of the solid wires.
Wirebarn doesn't have THHN.

220v welder plug is 3-wire, 2 hot legs and a ground.

Right. I’m gonna use that for the three hot legs, and wrap a 12g ground around it got my machine feeds.

Laid out my panel. Hope the 1x8 I put up will hold the idler motor. All planned out and happy.

Sealed up some barn holes. 2 cans of foam and plenty of chicken wire remaining. War is on.

Roundup was 2 for 1 at Lowe’s ($25 for ~2.5 gal). Used 1.33 gallons hitting thistles I missed yesterday and starting on the margins of the gravel lot. Now doubly curious about smikes sprayer. Seems worthwhile for the gravel both in cost and labor.
