rolled over 60k

needs a bunch of regular maintenance before next use.  All parts and fluids on the shelf ready for a sunny day(s).  one of Nates guys is interested in looking at the truck.

unloaded down to VA friday night was painful.  violent shaking from 50-62MPH.  has had some goofy tire wear 40-60K miles and i had been planning to run the steers out another 10K before fixing front end looseness.  rid home loaded much better but after inspection today the front steers are whooped.  confirmed upper ball joint play both sides onlything loose.

changed upper balljoints in about 10 minutes a side.  i think i spent more time looking for something to use as a 60mm socket and a 33m wrench than actually doing it.  had to cut down a 1 3/16 socket to fit but was easy after that.  steers pulled and loaded in ZJ to drop at Lewis tomorrow morning to mount new rubber.

Front end lubed
637XX miles
front brakes like still 80%

got a cash offer on this unit minus flatbed and tuner.  need to find out what its really worth i guess.  could be a good time to bail before it gets into out of warranty work.

hang on to the flatbed till you decide what the next truck is? might need it. or it might sell for what it cost you and who cares.

I just remembered this is a 4x4.
That makes it way more annoying.

Also things I just remembered: there's a club member with a lift that can lift this unit.

- lift & remove both driveshafts, break all fasteners free, pull most/all trans to block bolts, remove clutch hydraulics
- lower, remove crossmember, support trans and tcase on my bigass trans jack
- lift truck away from trans, then swap clutch bits
- installation is reverse of removal.

I've done this 2x on the ground and it didn't killed me. it's really not bad at all.

call South Bend, talk with them about your use and future power plans, and they'll probably suggest the same hybrid ceramic/organic I have with upgraded hydraulics.

My invoice from the replacement shows SDD3250-g 2005.5-2009 G56 550-650hp 1200tq
Not sure what changed in 2010, hopefully not a big deal.

got a service soon light last night.  no other indicators.

google says CCV filter at 67,500 miles.   60$ filter in the valve cover lol

two brake taps and two 0-100% accelerator taps in 10seconds should clear the message apparently.

bah!
