Car has a new owner

Did some shakedown yesterday. Aside from finding a missing zip tie by blowing the neg post off the battery, all seems well.

It needs some adjustments for me. I'm going to try raising the rear of the driver seat mounts an inch or so. That may make the wheel OK, along with improving visibility. I have at least 8" of headroom now. The steering wheel may still need to come down some but it's an easy change.

Near term adjustments will be made to harnesses, all three shifters (the interlock pills are completely removed from that case, aren't they? It was grinding in front low like the rear wasn't all the way out.), and limit straps will be added. Rear lights will be adjusted for race rules. I'd like to put an emergency use grand master kill on the ground side of the battery that EVERYTHING goes through. Needs extinguishers.

Low Clearance signage will be added inside my trailer  :-X

mid term plans include improving wiring, replacing switches, moving the orbital to the far side of the firewall with a longer and maybe adjustable column, changing brake pedal ratio or adding a booster (plenty of brakes... with 400+# of pedal effort), and deciding on a next tire, I think KRTs aren't for me and aren't for the wet east. Fan control will be changed, using a controller I already have. High always is too noisy for rec wheeling.

Thought I hit post on this 4.5 hours ago. I guess I lost the window...
Looks like 4 good tech inspection failures right now. Belts and neutral saftey aren't happening by Friday.

Grand master kill switch that's going to go ~3" away from the battery. I'll bypass it with something fused at 5-10a if I need to for a race tracker or something like that, but I want to be able to SHUT IT ALL OFF after twice not burning it up.

And I think this will be the shifter, with shift plate mods.

Edit to add parts:
Belt with 130a alt and goatbuilt brackets and undersized p pump pulley: 80”

Lower front rad hose: 21997

rear swaybar is 1.25" 37 1/2" length Schroeder bar. 39 spline, matches 572 and 928.

Brian from ADS suggests 200-225psi fully extended for racing. Can go down to 150psi at ride height for trail riding

maybe a 400amp fuse would be better somewhere.  i think adding a disconnect will just add to the fix bill.  it will be to late, and whatever wants to blow will blow long before you realized what happened.

limit straps add to list.

there's a longish list that includes those but they do belong on mid/near not long.

a fusable link and it's automaticness is probably not a bad thing at all. The ability to kill ground in the case of a sub-400a failure isn't bad either though.

I don't want to change 2 tires every race. Krawler sidewalls don't give me good vibes.

I'm really interested to see how matts mtrs do. But I really want a sticky. Maybe grooved krts? Stickies with good sidewalls include what? Treps and KRTs are about it aren't they?

38" SX would be a consideration. I intend to ask Lou why he switched - and I almost think it was flats.

Will be working on this and the tow rig tomorrow after work. Will also be witching that the order of operations is not race prep - race - clean the garage. But it is what it is, tis the order of free time.

Isn't it like a boat? if the owner didn't reuse the name on the new one and sells it named, it's bad luck to change it! Needs some decoration for the tins though, and a team name. Advantage Motorsports has a certain ring to it... ;)

Speedway Motors had ONE set of 'garage sale' (meaning returns) ratchet belts last night. 2" shoulders not 3". I pulled the trigger, see how I like them. For half the price of genuine Hookers it's worth a shot. Will be here Thursday (nothing like cutting it close)

they look skimpy. Some people like them, some don't. I think with a lap that stays tight the shoulders won't take as much of a beating.
