I never wanted a red car.. always thought they were tacky and common...
I now have 4 very not common cars and they are all red.. :o

I might be going electric...
my shop space is smaller than the garage... and I really only need heat to cure paint and assemble engine/trans/tcase...

I also wouldn’t be afraid of running an electric oil filled space heater overnight to keeps temps warm...

for the garage I think my wife is going to want permanent heat... might need to look into a reznor... :-\

Little AMC engine build update...

block came out magnificent... typical better than new
30 over.. decked block and head
Heads worked over a bit... ready for assembly...
all new sealed power internals... valves, pistons, associated hardware, camshaft, etc..
Omix flywheel out of whack.. Chinese shit.. 2 huge slugs removed for balance
went through 3 different aftermarket balancers before I ordered a rebuild one from  Damper Dr.
dropped that off this AM and snug as a bug on the crank snout..

Hit up  Bulltear and  AMC Parts for some of the bolt on misc items needed....

This should be a sweet motor....

Color teaser....

mostly for me.. like to keep motivated by looking toward the end product..
I decided to have JeepGlass.com do up a windshield for me.. in factory AMC Medium Blue Poly...
This is the color I thought I wanted.. now I’m damn sure this is what I wanted...
I don’t think the pics do the paint justice..

Came shipped in a wooden crate, unpacked and packing back up for storage..

rebuilding motors is for the birds

not always true... but yeah . . . had a dose of this today...

AMC's are NOT cheap motors to build.. even for this guy....

not to chest pound or sound like an arrogant ass...

$4,100 from T.W. for core, machine, and build the long block
$?? in parts that I "billed out" of inventory (I will put a number on this just for shits)
$?? of running cost for all the shiny new things that are going on this guy....

if it werent going in something just plain special and cool, a LS van motor would be just fine :-\

BTW.. motor is done... will pickup next week..
