Just thinking aloud....

if i get two fabricated 9 housings one off set to the left and one off set to the right, i can build any off set diff car, front or rear engine, passenger diffs or driver diffs on both sides.... hmmm

offsetting both diffs?

isn't the 9" pattern reversible, too, so there is no right or left drop, just an offset (ignoring drain and fill holes I guess)

thats what im forgetting, if the pattern is flippable, ill have to look into that.

big choice is going to be spendy light 9's or do 14's   i have to do some reading on both, but one will happen.

ya i was thinking pass diffs but after Ryans comment nothing says i couldnt flip the other 60 i have, weld on solid C's corrected and run it.  new car will stay 4.10s in 1:2    70-80mph is plenty fast in the rocks  :)

The TrueHi9 is one I always thought looked damn good. Prices are rough though as expected.

I would never ever run a hi-9. ever.

debatable reliability issues and SHIT support issues.

With some shock tuning and good steering I don't think it would be too used up and would be a top contender. You can really drive these days, no doubt about it.

So am I fired? :)

571 might do the last RCrocs race with the motor as is.  im not going to put another one in it right now.

you are fired for 572.  :'(

plan to start bending tube in 2 weeks or so.   Time to build the car i should have built, the way i should have built it.

IDK, its all about the Benjamins.  ;D

Rausch style racing, would the 14b hold up better than the fabricated housings?

if i was going to run 9's id run the kind you find in junk yards, and have 2 spares.  if it really was an issue, id get rid of them.

my thought with running the 14's the wrong- it way would be as strong if not stronger than a 60

unsprung weight is the biggest performance killer in high speed and in "rock bouncing"

going 9's would be a huge weight benefit taking a ton off the car

Fancy hubs can save almost as much as the housing, but seems silly to put bling hubs on a junkyard lump.

Just out of curiosity, anyone running rcv's in ultra4? Glanced at my "rock bouncing" calender on the wall... 99% of those guys have em. Carrying entire spares (if you managed to break one) would obviously be next to impossible though.

another 5.3, and a BUILT th400 will be my flavor in the new car.

i dont need any more power than i have now, ill keep my yukon super shafts and make them stronger with a lighter car.
