i recal you giving me the box back at some point, but that may have been 5 years ago lol  and it could have been borrowed again no worries

the gum cushion rubber i ordered it says to store in freezer to last not sure about glue, but you make your own glue also with this rubber and ethonal free gas easy i guess

4 days and about cushion gum rubber not liquefying to black glue/goo like youtube said it would in 48hrs.  tried more mixing and added more fresh E0 and left top of can open this this time.

first attempt at heat press usage.  30% of the result i was shooting for.  doesnt really appear to have "melted" the rubber together after 90 minutes.

added some more rubber and glue to one of the edges that i missed and reset for 180 minutes (full dial)

no temp control just time and "auto"

ok made progress on this today with 3 more repairs.  Im more like 80% of what i want and getting the hang of it and i think its def possible now to achieve good results.

finished my test tire and then did chris's 37" red today in a tricky spot and it turned out pretty good.  one of my bald KOH 42s is cooking right now on one of its sidewall cosmetic blemishes.

Chris's red i made a 3/16" thick aluminum spacer plate that contoured to the heating element shoe around the BFG side lug, worked great.  just need to trim /finish it up a bit to make it cosmetically better but rubber stuck good.  Outside material only on that one.

this is the first test tire, i mounted up, 40 psi and no bubbles.  this one got cords stitched, and rubber both sides.  cooked it twice since it really didn't take right and needed to re position shoe over a bit- looks a little funky but structurally sound.

first screw up logged.  i think i was jumping the gun and trying to pull the shoes when it was still too hot to try and set up another one.

bah.  cleaned up, re prepped and gummed, glued and reset to cook

im thinking id like to buy a second heat press.  to get two rolling at the same time after getting the shop setup for it

more continued succes today, getting the hang of this thing and learning what not to do

did my first "tread" repair.  had about a 3/8" size hole stuffed with plugs.  first time i used a 3" patch in addition to the rubber i added on the hole and outside with another aluminum tread piece i made

mounted and bubble checked all good.  tire has some other bead issues so it will get bead sealer or slime eventually.  this is chris's spare 37 red now.
