92 chevy s10 4x4 with 51 chevy cab

couldnt pass this up for 4 miles from my house and 500$


to my suprise the 51cab is grafted to the 4x4 s10 floor and fire wall, and actually done rather well.  not crazy about the s10 dash and seats but again done rather well from what hacks i have seen.  I think ill just move along the path he chose.   

missing doors and hood, but i have a wreck 54 shell thats ready to pilage all parts from. 

another 50$ he gave me 5 boxes of gaskets, seals, trim parts, s10 carpet and all kids of stuff probably worth another 300$ at LMC lol 


runs and stops in current status but only has reverse with column shifter not alighned right.  he didnt get to that

1 hour of tinkering

trans linkage broke free and adjusted
Tcase may have been in N?
bled brakes
bolted battery down.


thing starts, runs, drives, shifts, stops, does burnouts.



started today pulling the rotten 54 shell apart to steel doors, hood, trim parts needed, bumper, ect

2300$ to build a complete new 47-51 chevy truck box from LMC.  they have everything instock except 1 fender right now. 

thats cool, but crazy. 


looking at one with no fenders local today, and found a better complete one in PA also for the price of diesel to go get it, bah.

doors hung and adjusted, latch parts replaced / fixed so close and function right.  ready for primer and glass. 

hood hung- need to swap a latch and look at assist spring mounts- the metal they bolt too isnt present with the graft that was done.

picked up a truck box this morning- took a chance on it- i think its actually a 50's ford box.  missing fenders, but other wise usable. 

ill be able to double my money im sure if i dont end up using it.



passed on my way there was a autoparts swap meet at the Moose lodge.  old guy had one chevy fender i needed.  gave me his card said he has a hord at home in Victor. 

picked up a half ton chevy bumper and 2 flow threw mufflers for 42$

i need a long box.


found one one the way to Rausch creek that i might pick up this weekend



man does prepping a car for paint suck, i really remember why i dont do this, ever.

shot the paint on the cab and doors last night- looks good.  baking in the barn today. 

picked up NOS parts on FBMP today:  front bumper, rear bumper, tailgate, bedside trim piece.

spent most of the day re assembling the doors today.  almost there.  ordered a nut riv gun to fix a few miss matching hardware issues between the two doors. 

full rubber and felt kits, new glass, new tracks, handles, lock set, some latch parts, door cards, bottom plates.
