92 chevy s10 4x4 with 51 chevy cab

picked up those BMW wheels, both sets for 350$ not bad.  snows bolted right on, need some spline high clearance lug nuts for the other set and a tire- one is pretty whooped.  she was an auto cross girl


windsheild pulled and chrom trim ring installed correctly tonight, it was bugging me, and its correct now. 
wiper motor interfaced to S10 electrical

plugging along. 


found (1) matching tire on clearance at tire rack for 145$, win.

back to rusty Tjs this week that have appeared in the lot.  bah.

wheel spacers and spline lug nuts ordered to get that stance and look fixed up!

replacement tire mounted, new wheels mounted with 2" spacers
front head lights, marker lights, hood prop in.

dragged the PA box over to the lift.

removed fenders, banged dents out of them- they are rough- maybe usable for a rattier truck project, but i dont think this truck. looking for a new set.

the box i think is good enough to use, especially since it needs to get trimmed up a bit on the bottom to fit the s10 frame and will have a raised bed floor. 

wire wheeled entire bed inside and out (my arms are still buzzing) and have a solid plan.  2 or three spots need some metal work, then inner frame construction to stiffen up box and mount to s10 frame.

plan to hemlock the bed floor and running boards for the truck. 

fitting great.  also learned this box must be the rare 1954 first gen but flat top.  weird.

first day of patching work on the bed.  going well.  looking much better.  should be ready for primer in a day or 2.

fab done and bed fit.  minus 2 welds as i ran out of wire.

shot the color also.

probably screwed up-   the cab i didn't use hardener- it didn't seem like the instructions said it was necessary and i wasn't in a hurry for fast dry time.  3 weeks later you still can put your finger nail into it easy. 

added hardener into the box mix-  it looks darker and more gloss right now- bah


maybe in a few days it will match up but not looking good. 

i guess i could pull the glass and trim on the cab, fix some body work i missed and reshoot the cab.  hopefully it doesnt come to that.

haven't touched this thing in a month, haven't found rear fenders.  popped a new tag for it today, time to list it and send or plate it and drive

its pretty good,  box is rock hard, cab is still able to put your finger nail into it if you really try

have some bites on market place, see if anybody shows up.

realized i never put a filler neck on this guy and the tank was just capped off/plugged.


pulled in today

Vin tag replaced on door jam
filler neck cut in and installed
got lucky, blinker in op issue was a missing flasher, replaced and all good now.
dome light trim installed.


what a bunch of morons on a few hot rod FB pages i posted the add too, it was like Pirate4x4 from the 2009.  people picking on stupid things- hey its not a 40k truck and if you haven't noticed your money is worth 25% less now than it was last time you bought something, which you will never again just keyboard bitch.

will pick up next sunday if all goes well. 

ill probably swap a plate to this guy since i have two sets of plates now sold and trucks gone.

picked up 2 fenders and a short box today on way home from Rolling W.


was neat to drive through my old neighborhood where i grew up.  sellar was 2 blocks from my middle school that has been shut down for  15 years. 

drove though my old neighbor hood and house, haven't been there in 20 years.  was weird.
