never heard of, sounds interesting since I have city water, and close plumbing to that sump. will investigate.

12v 5gpm brushless circulator pump I bought when thinking about hydronic heat in joe is in service. Might use for a water pump. Quiet and decent flow from a 5/16 line!

. The 12v backup sump pump was dead too. Figured as much since it was removed.

So goddamn glad I bought those little battery water alarms!!

5 minutes on. 8 minutes off.

Using the same float that the dead pump had, was a plug-through so battery charger on that. Pretty glorious compared to hand bailing a sump pit until stores open in the morning

All set. Had a hose clamp pop off just as it finished running after i powered on the first time. Letting the pit fill again up for a beyond worst case stress test before I abandon it to automated monitoring again.

That was quite a shower.
Those pumps FLOW. Glad it’s quite clean water.

pond bubbler installed. doubt it will affect grass at all, but should reduce algae and prevent cyanobacteria buildup.

That water powered sump pump came in. They say NOT to connect it to same output as primary pump. Probably for both of two reasons - to not reduce outflow by pushing through a check valve and to not be overwhelmed by other flow if both pumps are running for some reason.

So: a bit more plumbing work than I was thinking. Seems totally worth it to sleep sound in a power outage without having to worry about setting up a generator.

Need to glue up PVC discharge and cement an existing hole in the basement wall around that 1.5” discharge line.

First “real” lathe use today. Apparently there are 2 3/4” non tapered threads. Garden hose/ washer hookup, and whatever was available as a Pex female 3/4 swivel thread. No idea what that matches with. It’s finer than garden hose, almost like NPT threads per inch - but not tapered.

Anyway, I had a short pice of garden hose with a female swivel. I harvested that nut but had to open up the ID to clear the shoulder of the pex fitting. Worked perfectly.

Little bit hack, but it’s plumbing on the finished side of drywall and in a utility room. More importantly it got me 3/4” feed without having to shut off all house water nor sweat copper pipe. Just hook up to an existing hose bib for pervious washer connection.

Little nervous about the super duper quick set cement I got, that’ll be a first experience for me in hydraulic cement and in fixing a wall and in cementing in a pipe.

Got it all pitched away from the house, and using a P trap backwards to avoid ice issues and give me an easy disconnect.

I apparently
Need to be more careful with PVC fittings and twist. Carefully marked two, and hit my marks, but they’re both a couple degrees off pisses me off.

Fernco coupling took up the angle. Meh

Still need to hang the drain off the deck. Otherwise done. Including the holes in the wall. Hydraulic cement is weird. And doesn’t cure as fast as it says on the tin but sure damn suddenly.

lowered mower deck to 4" from 5" and cut pretty long grass last night. Not bone dry.

Could really use more blade RPM. Rear discharge leads to clumping, it seems. Bogging was WAY better with the smoke screw turned a bit, but I was still wishing for more a few times. Definitely need to sharpen/replace blades. I think with the rear discharge, a mulching blade would be the way to go, but I don't know if deck blade RPM is critical to that. It probably is.

Bogging down & clumping while moving at speed? Slowing down or less overlap didn’t help?

Engine throttle/governor’s high idle rpm verified?
