I was thinking the same. Maybe for ranger, maybe for jeep junk? I don't want to get much more if any rate of course. Just more sit-in at similar ride height. They're usually really high rate too.

sounds right. I'll probably need a bit more for front clip mounts (might as well gut them now that they need straightening) and rear bumper braces.

Clutch feels fine. Wtf?

Reminded myself that it's a hydraulic throwout. No pivot issues or so forth.

Overheated fluid growing between master & slave if I was riding the clutch?

I have a really really bad habit of leaving my left foot on the pedal. Maybe I need a really strong return spring.

identical problem on identical truck. no resolution.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Cartalk/comments/2gy8yc/clutch_overheats_on_97_ranger_ceases_shifting/

I already have pretty fresh fluid from when I did the clutch and the line was cut & spliced (IIRC).

I'm thinking I run it again and see what happens (while being prepared to be sad), and if it does the same thing again, fully replace the hydraulics and put in some high-zoot DOT 5 high temp full synthetic unicorn juice. Any other ideas?

should I try to drain and fill it ahead of time? I guess I'll see how brown the fluid in the reservoir is.

doesn't ring a bell, I'm not sure.

Just ordered some fancy 600Ëš DOT 4 Motul brake fluid. Hopefully that'll be a quick flush & swap.

Clutch felt funny loading it into the trailer after the second race. Low pedal instead of typical high pedal and very sudden engagement.

Unloaded just now to let the rain wash it for me, and I've got almost no clutch. I can hold it with the brakes and it will idle with the clutch on the floor, but it's partially engaged. The starter won't turn over the engine without letting the truck move.

Any ideas other than just throwing a new master & hydraulic throw out at it?

I'm sure I could bleed it now and it'd last a race but this feels like a new ongoing issue that needs more than fluid changes. I just don't understand the failure at this point.

Master and slave are original to purchase. It got a clutch last year after what could have been the same issue - it was slipping during a race so I changed it.

i have to say i am very disapointed in the clutches and steering on these trucks.  everything else is way above expecatation.

Mine is getting a chevy steering pump next.  I already have a wilwood master for the clutch.

With landings from clearing the table top that moved my go pro, and not having the steering give out, I think my chained passenger mount must be good.

I'll probably have to bleed the master but I don't think I'm touching anything else on here before Broome.

Need a straight front clip and some spare tires, and probably a new driver bedside along with more flexible bed mounts.
