herd a signifangnt new exhaust rattle on my way to buffalo and back sunday.  investigated today, found broke 5" exhaust band clamp.  bah!   exhaust looks like its got only a year or so left in a few spots.  i guess i should have sprung for the stainless option when it was deleted.

2 new lap joint band clamps on the way tomorrow before heading to NH thursday.

captains log 108K miles

CEL has been on over a year now mostly for MAF code that i have still ignored that doesnt seem to effect operation or mPG.

two new dash lights and abs message today after sitting 3-4 weeks.  repeated came and go with 2 key drive cycles.

bunch of BCM codes in addition but i guess right front wheel speed is pissed.  awesome the RA wheel bearing sensor lasted a year.   i  i kept the one usable mopar side unitbearing/sensor on the parts shelf so i may just see if that sensor is salvageable when it gets inspected.

hopefully the wheel bearing wont explode in 50 miles sunday like the last time i was given this message as a warning beforehand lol

Time flies, 11 years now. How's the rust level on it?

actually truck is still holding clean with no signs of body rust, frame is pretty good, could use a fresh fluid film.

flat bed looks like typical NY rust but not terrible i have wire wheeled it and repainted it twice.  i did repair the main headake rack last  year when it broke / rotted though after hitting it with an escalade ha.   i try to spray the tool box hinges every time i think of it.

no repeat of front wheel speed sensor code rolling to PA and back empty.

had a water in fuel light 10 min after fueling on the way home, stopped and drained a water bottle worth of fuel out of chassis filter, had 1tsp of water in it after settling.  light went out on its own shortly after.  Cant believe that system is that sensitive or works that well after 10+ years of fuel flow but meh

repeat water in fuel light today.  i didnt have a container so the parking lot got a 5 second oil wash while loading Joshs truck.

Josh said he has had the sensor / harness fail on a few of his trucks so ill look at that and see if its something i can replace easy.

suspect i am going to find my exhaust in need of replacement when i look at it.

rather annoying that kits are not available any more, and honestly probably dont want one shipped to my address from the few sketchy sites left that claim to carry one anyway?

looking at 5" parts piece meal and man they are expensive.

5" is standard big truck stuff, pre-covid it was cheap if you bought it that way. I think I had $150 into redoing Joe's exhaust.

Single bits at retail from most truck places. I usually went to that filter supply place on the loop off Jefferson by the big post office.

Matts cousin did the exhaust when the parts fell off and it got a clutch, i think it was a 650$ line item for turbo back including a short muffler, non stainless.

i investigated today on my return commute, 4' section between down pipe and muffler is hanging by a thread and disconnected from muffler.  2 missing band clamps. a third down the way looking sad also.

i think past me ordered a 5 pack of the clamps and only replaced one that was bad a year or two ago.  should be an easy fix, pipes dont look bad as i was expecting rot holes instead of missing connecting parts.

added another exhaust clamp, rear muffler is just about ready to separate.  it really needs a full exhaust next spring
found adjuster loose on drag link, awesome.  moog junk.  replaced shit hardware, centered wheel
front grease job
spent time / made tool to adjust rear driver ebrake thats hard to get too, ebrake back to awesome
new to it JY wipers swapped on, both my 2 year old rainx ones were shot already  (OEM wipers lasted 8 years)

tiny tiny click noted in driver upper ball joint, awesome.  if they fail it, fuck them.
lights all checked, no other inspection items out that i could find.
