1986 MJ "the keeper"
« on: February 20, 2012, 10:21:23 AM »
well mikes search for vintage Jeep wheels get me thinking..
I always wanted a set of turbine wheels on the MJ..
pulled the trigger today..

2" spacer lift installed
tune up done etc...

looking for the correct bench seat and carpet and headliner now...
I never wanted a red car.. always thought they were tacky and common...
I now have 4 very not common cars and they are all red.. :o

well looks like this 26 year old east coast beater has a bit more brake issues that first thought...

awaiting the laundry list of needed parts after its went through a throughout inspection this morning..

Plans are still a keeper… with body work and paint eventually…

First want to get it mechanically perfect, and locate all interior parts..

Smike.. wanna try your hand at body work.. I’m stopping by custom truck this week in the MJ to see about a paint quote…
For what’s it’s worth I would rather you do the body work.. his guy it a bit of a perfectionist and well.. it’s a 26 yr old truck.. I don’t need perfection.. just good.

Wheels came in today also…
Getting them sent out to get refinished…

some might say I’m crazy..
but I reserved my sons first Vanity plate...
will be a good 16 years till he gets to use it.. but its mine...

Only fitting that the Jeep I am reserving it with is a MJ

I'll see how the ones I got look, probably next week when it comes out of the garage again.

SCORE...!!!!

saw these on eBay this morning..
still a valid MOPAR number.. they are $109 ea. from the dealer.. even with my discount that’s a hefty sum of money..

you had turbine wheels on your XJ?
those are the center caps for those specific wheels.. they dont fit anything else...
