if you can buy a set for 500$ that you are happy with that bolt on go for it,

if it takes me 10-15 hours to make them plus materials, right now i probably have better things to do....

it all depends on what you have and what you want i guess..   ;D

Well this project starts out like most. A while back our good friend Paul was looking to replace his fenders on his Tj and came upon a nice pair on the all mighty Craigslist ads. He decided to pass so i (knowing a good deal) picked them up and planed on just passing the deal to someone else.

Well the first time I take out my little Tj i slid into a little tree at Whispering Pines causing the smallest little dent

So I decided to put on the tube fender with no flare

painted black

was good enough and looked good. My unique mounting of the turn signals (thank you Velcro)

Then went to the Poker Run put on by Barnyard Boogers and realized that I would be needing flares.
then a trip to Big Dogs Ice breaker shows just how much spray I was getting with no flares, just small random puddles caused all the mud spray.

About a year went by and i decided to show up at M4WD & Fab. with a roll of plastic used for garden edging to temporarily put in place to get thru the winter when Mike walked over and said I can do better than that.

Out came the bender (MikeMike has that photo)

and then out came the welder

the plasma got to say hi.

Hello Mister Grinder thanks for showing up to clean up the rough shape

All tacked in place

and now i have about a 3inch flare added to each fender that turned out great.
