upright MX-19
« on: December 11, 2024, 10:15:25 AM »
I guess its AWP fix time again this year.

used my UPRIGHT MX-19 scissor lift a few times a week for a couple years now (zero service or maintance since i own)

yesterday drove up to my exhaust fan, used, reversed back to park, no forward.  all functions work except drive forward.

some google last night and this morning- looks like one valve controls forward/reverse with default in reverse, forward powered.

may also have something to do with pot hole sensors or directional diodes?  need to read up a bit more

found a manual

found a bunch of diodes, one visibly cracked.

tried to test all of them (about 10) but they way they are soldered together i think its playing tricks on my meter.
dont think i can test them without removing them (soldered) and i may as well just replace them all.

50 pack for 6$ on amazon.
i dont have any on hand.

probably order a filter too  :o

changed cracked diode, no change in operation

changed all 8 diodes, no change in operation.  (all works except forward drive)

started pawing at solenoids and wiring.  unooked one to see what would stop working, machine drives in forward now when push stick back   :o

i guess its back to electric diagrams since mechanically it works?

sadly i think this thing is going to get a toggle switch added for direction of travel and 2 wires to the control loom, since all other functions work and i cant make sense of the electrical schematic or even tell if its relevant to my generation MX-19

i guess push fixing / understanding operation till next failure.  another thing i have owned used and abused / rented out for years and owes me nothing.

more unsucsellful diagonostic work today

got a toggle for a solution after i found the main wire loom had 2 extra wires already.  switched ground to or not to the "reverser solenoid"?

just found this with google translate

https://www.snorkeljp.com/service-support/pdf/parts_upright/mx15_mx19_sn_1004-11363.pdf

my sn is 1250.  this will help, i was looking at the wrong newer schematics.  Snorkel bought out Upright.
