6x12 enclosed trailer
« on: October 28, 2021, 10:10:39 AM »
I'm looking for a probably 6x12 or similar size enclosed for work. a rolling workshop.
I want the side door, back door can be ramp or barn doors
I don't want the extra height... I want to park it in my garage(82")...

I'm in no rush to get one, I have time to wait until I find the right one at the right price

used or new doesn't matter, need a little more funding probably too

if anyone has one or knows of one, or has advice on finding a good one I appreciate it!

I have a 6x12 all aluminum frame. It’s a great versatile size probably not looking to sell unless I found a great deal on a 7x14/16 tandem axle.

FBMP.  It’s a 2016, but was in good condition when I bought it in 2019. I paid $3800 which was a good deal at the time.

The all aluminum ones are nice because the frames won’t rust and they run a little lighter. This one is 850 empty and very easy to move around by hand. You can pick up the tongue when it’s empty.

I see these listed used in rougher shape for 90% of new price. That’s not worth it to be and I’d just get new if it wasn’t a deal.

Locally I’ve looked at stuff listed by:
Brooks Factory direct trailer in Ontario
JPR trailer sales in Holley
Jim’s trailer world

I've been watching fbmp, glad I'm in no rush...
I've even been on craigslist..
I'll add those places to keep an eye on. I've debated just going new, just need to wait for some more funding for new..
Let me know if you find anything👍

that one was, gone the next day

I did send a message at 8:30pm responce a little after 10.
gone the next day

That's fine, because I  bought a new 5x10 a few months ago, its short so it fits in my garage as planned!
working great as a mobile workshop, its really nice having pretty much all the tools I need when I go to do a job, and more room than my small truck bed..

also found the hitch pin holes are getting egged out, any suggestions for a fix?  welding washers on is one tom and I talked about..
google says the pins with the bent end are to blame..

seems like any hitch with a lot of towing miles on it gets wallowed out. drill out larger and put in a shouldered bushing is the best fix to get the meat of the fix all the way in against the drawbar, but washers certainly work in a pinch.

I like that idea, thanks
What's the best place to get them?

Maybe I should find a straight pin also, just to make sure that's not an issue too 🤷???

Yes, on my ranger, I guess I tow more than I thought
Didn't think I did enough to cause this..

That looks interesting

Thought about one of these (chip had one)
DEEAGLE Hitch Tightener Anti Rattle Stabilizer for 1.25" to 2" Trailer Hitches Reduce Movement On Hitch Mount Cargo Carrier Bike Rack Boat, RV Accessories, Rubber Isolator, Black https://a.co/d/i5yqbW7

I think maybe a shoulder bushing to fix, plus something to take up the slop and prevent it happening again..
