Started in on this project to get an idea of what i have to work with.

Put a charger on the van battery over night.    Started right up today and drove it around.   Tranny seems to shift good.
Typical exhaust manifold leak..   Front brake lines shot.
Should make for a good driveline.

Put the 52 in the shop and got the bed and cab off the chassis.  Chassis is in great shape, no rot.
I noticed the tranny looked familiar.    SM420

All relevant parts pulled and piled in the shop.

Chassis and engine sold and gone.

The SM420 is for sale.

Next is to figure out how to pull the van body off

21mm bolts out, cut the core and pick it off, roll forward and out!

Was more work than i wanted.

Because of the height of the van body i could not lift it off with the gantry crane in one shot.

21mm bolts out, cut the core and pick it off, roll forward and out!

SM420 sold and gone.

Saved a bunch of sheet steel from the van body to be used for patch panel work.

Rest of the van sold to scrappers...    they spent two days cutting it up to get it off my trailer and in the back of their trucks.

Probably spent more on gas and sawzall blades....

Time to start acquiring parts for this project.

First on the list 20" wheels.
