BAT seems not like a great platform.  they take 5% from the bidder at time of bid and seller fee to list.  but they are hands off and have nothing to do with final transaction payment, and buyer can back out or ghost seller at any time.  buyer just complains to credit card company and backcharges to get their 5% back

seems useless and lots of complaints about it on net.

i was hoping seller would just get payment from BAT.  something about escrow on their site as an option but not explained clearly.

ebay dont you have to pay in full?

I'm a bit surprised they don't escrow or broker more than that. 5% seems like a hefty cut for just advertising when it doesn't cut down on the rifraf

they'd probably have a whole lot more liability as an actual dealership if they were more involved, but the online peer-to-peer broker-dealership I used to buy my i3 - KeySavvy - was smooth like butter and way cheaper than 5%. and got me a Minnesota dealer plate for 30 days immediately, too.

IDK how ebay works for vehicles.

no, ebay you don't have to pay in full

You won’t pay for the vehicle on eBay. All financing and payment details will be worked out with the dealer   https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/getting-started-ebay/buying-vehicles-parts-accessories?id=4639

BAT is a great platform for a seller compared to mecum auctions that charges sellers fees.  BAT charges the buyer and is only 5% and capped at 7500.  There are tons of cars that sells for hundreds of thousands of dollars and fee only 7500 is cheap for that.

I think the nonpayment issue doesn't happen that often.  Remember, people who complain are loud and people who are happy don't really say anything. BAT does thousands of auctions a month.

but i still have to deal with a buyer and buyer funds?  thats anoying, dealing with cash or personal check or bank check- seems no better than a private deal with associated risks.

Yes, true however BAT brings a shitload of eyes that have moolah onto your listings for sale.   The caveat is that if you claim to have a low mileage anything, it will be torn to shreds by viewers for any mistakes or flaws - EVEN MORE ESPECIALLY if the vehicle is not detailed/clean.

It has pros and cons.
