Make sure your underhood light or done light are off!

You didn't say, what jeep? Glove box light stay on even when closed?

Although it sounds like you fixed it. It's called "surface charge" which usually get discharged after charging or running before the volt reading get stabilized.

This is after I push the range button


Now for the pictures today


And if I unhooked the leads and hook the negative back up and use the clamp it reads .45 to .56 a
 The battery is at 12.44v  now.


I think the jeep is telling me to drive it more.

Another 'must know' tech about checking battery.......

I am not sure about your TJ specifically but a lot of vehicles will have higher amp draw as soon as the battery is re-connected as it's computers/modules 'wake up' for a few minutes before they go to 'sleep' and the amp drops.
