Anyone have an HE351C they're not using?
« on: July 31, 2014, 01:55:52 PM »
Matt texted me looking for one, thought one of you other Cummapart owners may have one around. I'm out of spare turbos, at last.

wait, Matt M or G

if G and you want to send mine to get rebuilt (or buy a new cartridge on ebay for $220), you can throw it in your truck then give me your used one.

not sure what's in the Fummins now, but it's not a 351.

school me on rebuild of this.

Dan used to be into turbo cars and recommends getting it rebuilt professorially and balanced. Recommended Majestic Turbo. said it ran around 200+ shipping back and forth

other option
Cheap ebay kit- $36
http://www.ebay.com/itm/CUMMINS-PICKUP-TRUCK-ISB-5-9L-325HP-HE351CW-Turbo-Charger-Rebuild-Repair-Kits-/251587777678?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a93ccd48e&vxp=mtr

name brand (maybe?) kit  - $89

new cartridge- $220
http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-9-Dodge-Ram-Turbo-charger-Holset-HE351CW-CHRA-Cartridge-Core-New-/251603518448?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a94bd03f0&vxp=mtr
this seems the best bet, but parts quality is unknown. Would need to tear mine down first to confirm its all stock.

will also need a 4" flange if anyone has one

I was looking for it.  I got an hx35 with a 12 cm housing in the truck right now but I think I am running out of air.  Some guys say the he351's work good on the early motors.

As far as the rebuild.  I have bought the kits and done them myself.  I would go for the more expensive kit,m 89 bucks, the cheaper kits scare me expecially since they are spinning ridiculously fast...

I got one on a truck but has a little in and out play but end shaft play is mint would trade for a stock hx35 it's on my brothers auto and spools to fast don't want him blowing it up .

what truck is it on?

I'll l need 4" exhaust parts to attach to the existing 4" turbo back that has a 3" to 4" reducer on it.
