JEEPWERX Torchmate Projects
« on: January 25, 2014, 07:16:14 PM »
Started Farting around with some drawings for extinguisher mounts tonight.

This is my current mount purchased from Www.JoeBlow'sFab.com
Design works fine for roll cage mount.
For floor mount we will design a larger bottom plate.

Fresh Cad File ready to be cut.

everything is 1/8"

Planning to cut extinguisher mount out of 1 pc flat and bend in the press.

Copy the large extinguisher-side plate to the roll-bar plate.  Include the center bend.

Or "T" out each end and bend.

For clamp mount instead of bolt-on or just anti-rock stabilization.

The version In the photo is and was used with a hose clamp mount on tube.
Can't say I ever experienced any issues with it moving or not being tight enough.

With that in mind depending on the mounting location, a little "movement" wouldn't hurt in a roll or flop. It would help prevent breakage if it has some give IMO.

But willing to make anything.

Should be able to cut some parts today. I think I have a couple of sheets of 1/8".
