after looking into this and some math..
I might actually be better off with a metric tire and a 17" rim...

looking at trail ready DOT wheels... dont think I need a beadlock with a 34" tire...

CJ6 stuff...

got talked off the cliff by a buddy..

I wanted to run a flotation tire i.e. 33x10.5x15
stock 60-70 rim was a 15x7.. wanted to pick up more back space due to narrow track axle.. ~2.5-3" some of the early CJ5 people run...

but going more simple...

sticking with a ~33 tire..  need wheels with backspace for NT axles..
3.5 will be sufficient
8" rim came stock in the mid 70's
no turning radius issues..

Size    Diameter   Width   Tread Depth   Tread Width   Rim Range   Load Range   Max Load   Max psi   Weight   Revs/Mile
LT285/75R17   33.9"   11.3"   20/32"   8.7"   7.5-9.5"   E   3195 lbs.   80 psi   62 lbs.   614

17x8 alloy wheel with 3.5" BS should be a nice combo...

Had a lot of phone conferences yesterday and this AM…
Had some thinking time…

only steel...  puts some stress on the bearings and spindles..
after some research.. 2.5 is a bit much.. 3.5 should be perfect..

the rim looks too wide in that pic with too narrow of a tire.

I've always thought that 33s look best with 16s.   Too doughnuty with 15s.
