ya NY changed something in last 5 years, you have to have a HD inspection license now. 

mine is even reg as a 9800lb passenger suburban.  still need an inspection station thats heavy.

so was it that you just needed a heavy weight inspection?  Sara's shop(Duncan Milk Hauling) in Lima does heavy inspections.

Landed safe home. Long road day today.
No truck issues. Limited slip is TIGHT, I felt it on the wet grass maneuvering to dump tanks. I read they’re helical on the big axles.

Dash says I’m getting 10mpg give or take. Haven’t checked that math yet. Hope bigger and same weight or lighter tires might help that. I think that’s about 20% worse than the 07.

finally ran numbers. 9.8 mpg out of the truck on this trip, 9.4 worst (much of Canada, 73-75mph), 10.6 best (home to NH, steady 65).

old truck was doing 11.5-13.5 with the camper.
new truck did 11.4 running around town between when I bought it and the start of the trip. old truck would have been 14-15.

slightly disappointing & just about exactly as expected. dashboard is optimistic by 0.3 to 1.5mpg. Have not gotten over 500 miles on a tank yet.

Almost time for oil change and fuel filter.
