8.8 pinion junk
« on: June 24, 2018, 08:03:34 PM »
I just laid out all my crap for the 8.8 swap in the bro lite, and I’m short pinion bearings, pinion seal, pinion nut, and pinion races. Also could use a set of set up bearings. Anybody got me covered?

you only need an inner pinnion setup bearing and i think its the same as D44 as i have done many 8.8s with what i have.

i might have a full or partial 8.8 kit also.  i can look tomorrow.

I have a full Timken 8.8 kit in the garage from the YJ.
Spider gears and an Aussie I think
I never wanted a red car.. always thought they were tacky and common...
I now have 4 very not common cars and they are all red.. :o

I was thinking about that but I'm tired of tripping over the 8.8, it's in my way.

trucks arent heavy enough to be useful with more rear brakes, if the 7.5 was going to break it would have broken long ago after 4 dozen 30' jumps.  I dont think i have any interested in adding the weight of 8.8 and my 4.10 gears are fine

I need more rear weight (I'll try and remember to check weight gain, I'm curious), I could use more gears since I think I'm 3.55 now. Hoping the 1" longer pinion is fine. I think there's about 2" of slip in left from ride height as-is.

i think its not fine, Erik broke something on his truck because of it.  your new perches should be able to move back the axle though it looks like 1-1.5" thats needed.
