These were built for a CJ7.
Passenger drop.
 Set up for Spring over.
5.38 gears.
Lockers
( I don't remember what makes but serious inquiry we can open them up for inspection)
High steer arms with linkage
Both have disc brakes
Lockout hubs
These are complete with calipers, brake lines, and yokes.
5 x 5.5 bolt pattern

Id like to sell them as a pair, but money talks.

Getting married ...cleaning up... im told these gotta go!

Yes I thought I listed the width but ill re-measure tonight to Confirm.
I purchased these axles from a guy in Freedom Off Road Club.
I had different plans for these whenbi bought them... so to be honest I've never even pulled a diff cover.

correct me if I'm wrong, but the front will not go in a TJ (passenger drop).


Other than that possibly insurmountable problem (can you flip a d44 like the GM stuff on 572?) the other tj conversion stuff would be:
* wheel spacers to adjust for cj7 width
* convert to coil from spring


What else am I missing?

can you flip the front axle? no. its flipped on 572 because the outputs on the tcase are spinning in reverse (drivetrain is backwards). flipping makes the wheels spin in the correct direction. you could run a stock dana 300 transfer case with passenger drop and run a pass drop front axle. imo, not worth it.

both axles would need full brackets for links and coils. at that point there is no reason to keep stock suspension setup. either long arm f&r, or long arm front and leafs in the rear.

these are close to the right width. you would just want new wheels that are 5x5.5

I would run a HP30 and 8.8 long before i would modify these to work. IMO

forgot about the rear engine spinning everything backwards in 572.


As to why I was even asking, the 8.8 upgrade would actually cost more than everything you outlined to get the disks, gears, locker, etc. Considering that LA is on my list it is more of a "bonus" move to get it all at once. Then I would still have the front d30.


Oh well. Looks like I'm back to the eventual 8.8. I have enough spares to not care for a while...

One some thing about this sport is it is not cheap. If you want to be running 35s and semi holding your own on the trail you are going to be a easy 3k-5k

Yep. $5k isn't unreasonable to put bigger axles under there (my current plan is actually about $7K). Just looked like a good deal that would be in my "do it in a month" budget instead of "do it in 2 years" budget. Luckily folks here are making it easy to stay out of trouble as I'm learning things.
