overloaded. it was not rusted inside the tube.

trailer is 10700 on the axles and the tongue feels heavy, so it's probably 1500-1800 tongue weight. that was factory hitch, just plain not rated for that weight. If it follows standard Class IV ratings it was probably 5000/500 or 7000/700 static, 10000/1000 WD - and I wasn't running WD.

New Curt Class V is rated for 15000 static 16000 WD. But that will be coming off as soon as I get the hauler bed. That has a built-in 10k rated receiver.

Pulled the trailer up to the condo today, they've got movers moving things in for them today.

Talked to Geico today, will be getting half the tow bill paid. They won't cover the trailer tow. Fuck them sideways with a rusty spoon, at least it's done.

Ticket call is early this afternoon.

They did not tow the truck with the trailer? When we hit the brake drums in the ford they towed the truck with the trailer still hooked up

Couldn't. Hitch broke.

I don't know if it would have been considered otherwise, but it would not have been possible anyway.

For what its worth they really shouldn't be towing a vehicle with a trailer attached to it still. Fairly confident that's not even legal aside from being bad practice.

And geico did pay for the tow for the covered vehicle did you have insurance on your trailer as well?   It is a seperately registered item.

Trailer is empty and ready for an ATL turnaround this weekend. Need to get Was White out of it, and fix the running lights. May have a short - that contact on the pigtail is corroded and has gotten warm. Hope it can be a quick fix.
