passenger side slider mocked up...
the supports are horizontal going into the frame.. have >1" gap from op of slider to body edge..
without altering the sliders this was as tight as I could get them to body.. my body mounts are a bit taller than stock...

I have a thought about a vertical support, integrating it into the roll cage...

ohh SMike ;)

I never wanted a red car.. always thought they were tacky and common...
I now have 4 very not common cars and they are all red.. :o

That seems pretty reasonable. Triangulation or cage support should keep them there and prevent upward migration.

Jeep is nestled in the garage for the winter..

was hanging out there last night, sitting in the seat making motor noises when I noticed my brake lights weren't lighting up.. end sup I had 2 blown fuses.. Brake lights and Turn signal..

couple of WTF's and a drink later I traced my footsteps to the last thing I did before I put the Jeep away....

Slider frame bolts cant be used as wire clamps..  :o

Winter to do List:

Things that need correcting

-Fuel Lines need re flaring
-Steering shaft needs set screws drilled
-Was running rich when parked, TBI adjustment before spring driving
-Excess heat under the hood.. louvers, coolers, don't know where this one is going
-Change fluids all around
-Re Seal Tcase oil pan
-Tcase shifter angle
-Horn button / column connection

Things that need completing

-Hazard Switch wiring
-Washer pump wiring
-E brake adjustment
-Soft top drilling and install
-Rear bench
-Slider to cage tie ins
-Sliders and seat mount painting
-Shifter tunnel / boots

I never wanted a red car.. always thought they were tacky and common...
I now have 4 very not common cars and they are all red.. :o

if the TBI has a working O2 and respective sensors and everything is happy, don't forget its not a carb and wont "run rich"

Howell thinks there too much pressure and TBI might need to be dialed down a bit..

Im not really going to mess with it until the spring when I can road test and check system info on scanner...

relief ball in that TBI is huge and way over sized.  pretty hard to hurt it.  same 90 psi pump on 571 now that ran a TBI and now runs PFI system

Found some flares in my parts stash and am looking at my options..
I am certainly looking to keep a stock profile, but I have never been a fan of molded flares.
unless I decide to make something, a metal flare in the rear is only available with <3" of coverage, and fronts are usually integral to the fender...

just brainstorming here if anybody has an insight...

I don't think I'd be looking to put flares on that. looks too clean without.

I disagree.  I think the clean set of original CJ flares will look great.  It breaks up the large flat body panel nicely and doesn't look out-of-place.

Or nothing.  No pocket flares, tube flares, or anything of that nonsense on this resto-mod.

If this will see tree and rock duty, have sMike or someone use a tubing roller and 1" tube.  That will allow a little bit more space for the end bends.  I have some 1 x .188(?) stock that isn't doing anything if you want to try it.
