We already have many trailers, and I can tow it witht he Durango, or pick up if I choose to get another one. Even a GC with a V8 will tow fine.

if I was ever to start over I'd go Zuk, 6.5:1 w/toy flanges, toy axles.  Cheap, light, nimble, schrong enough.

Waggy 44s with Chromos will be plenty strong, Toy with Longs plenty strong too.

The stock Scout 44s on Atom never broke a shaft. The spindles fell off, but the shafts were fine.  ;D

Eroc is a smart man.

Transaxle might be interesting, lighter and more compact. Driveshafts are where I have issues all the time.

Transaxle is alway in a 4:1ish low range, outputs are large enough, driveshaft adapters are non-existant. Either custom made or welding shit up.

Track/Kick did have auto, I had one in Atom. 2 wheel drive will bolt in and work on the 1.3. Or make a sweet doubler like we did in Atom.  ;D

Ah OK.  Divorced toy adapters are few and far between.

it should be "easy" to use the inner CV joint and part of the axle shaft from the car's axles and adapt to a splined stub on the other end to accept a yoke.

CVs do have some plunge capability to them though, so that could make things interesting and maybe not that easy. Could certainly be the head of a 2 piece on one end, and set up the links on the other end to be the proper geometry that there's nearly no plunge through travel & articulation and just use the CV and no other slip. Could be done but hard to design around.
