Rear gearset looks fine but welded spiders have separated.

Messaged Erik and Cora to see if I can grab a new locker from them.

I don't remember what we did in the rearend at Ryan's. sadly not documented in first post. I know it was already welded. did we have to tighten the pinion or something? I almost think we welded in there, because I remember discussing about the semi-float retaining clip access versus orb of traction...

FWIW if the side gears didn't fall out, I bet I could not have gotten the clips out without cutting a gear out anyway. Maybe with the brake disks removed it would plunge a little further? I still have the tires on.

I had to reweld the spiders in my 8.8 on the ground my first trip to Big Dogs. That was the day after my first D30 shaft breakage egged out the carrier.

Did many driver side motor mounts between mine and Hannah's as well, eventually switched over to poly on mine and then started breaking the brackets that bolt to the block. Brown Dog mounts would have been the answer but I built a buggy instead.

I thought about poly and then remembered breaking bolts and brackets and the joy involved there. For this units duty cycle stock may suffice. Will probably see additional road miles with a rear locker instead of welded? We’ll see.

it was def welded on pickup in CO, that thing was chiping those 25yr old BFGs on test drive like its job

ya we tightened up preload on pinion after finding it loose and no other issues, new pinion seal and fluid.

looking at that picture, i would say re welded it.

to have one of coras lockers work correctly, you are going to need a new carrier and cross pin.

Cross pin wear is minimal - polished appearance and nothing to touch. it had zero splatter on important surfaces. I just sealed a torq locker into it. Hopefully good. Literally my first ever rear locker experience so if it’s good or bad idk if I’ll know.

I didn’t take any closer pictures when the carrier was empty. Just installed the cover and then looked at the forum. Oops ¯\_(?)_/¯

Motor and trans mounts noticeable for sure.

Passenger mount is a fine spare. Thought it was more cracked up than it was.
