My riding mower is a 22hp 3 blade 46" width.    When it had old blades, I had to slow down in thick spots so it'd cut evenly and I could feel it working harder.   When I put in new gator blades, I could go through those full speed with ease.  Nothing else was changed in my mower, only the blades.

If your blades are dull/old, try new gator blades.

gators are NLA for my model, I found somewhere that listed a 6 pack in stock and ordered. Hopefully they're actually there, otherwise I'll have to find something I can make cross-apply. Oregon isn't good at a dimensional parts list so that may get annoying.

Bogging down & clumping while moving at speed? Slowing down or less overlap didn’t help?

Engine throttle/governor’s high idle rpm verified?

of course slowing down or less overlap helps. so does covering same area twice.
kinda defeats the purpose of getting a big mower if I can only use half of it.

No tach on it, and I don't have a portable diesel tach.

Whole lot of plasma practice. “Art” sucks and feels like a waste of time

Needs cleanup. Probably paint it green or black and run a wire wheel over the aluminum diamond plate backing, and maybe clear that.

I’m not a good plasma freehander at all. Make another of these as intended, and I’ll be a bit better than when I started.

And I think I hurt the electrical box part my phase converter when ONE fuse blew when I reversed the lathe too quick earlier.

I bought the wrong box and it has fuses in it. I didn’t bypass them. Biggest fuses are 30a not 50a. Too quick a reversing of the lathe appeared to have blown only one. The rotary motor doesn’t spin up immediately when I throw the switch unless I have the lathe on too, and the red light is staying on.

Pretty sure I hurt it.

Pond contents.

Water got super clear. Unfortunately the weeds and grass love it. Need to dye next year

Aqua shade is what we use in our camp pond. Pull a bucket of water out and it is light blue water. We don't get much for growth anymore. We did get some pond grass 2 years ago that grew deep but we were told no amount of dye would have stopped it. Had to get grass carp to clean it up.

Grass carp, eh?

It’s grass that is my main issue. It’s visible all the way in the middle which I think is 6-8’ deep. It’s thick from the edge everywhere we aren’t in & out  to 3-4’ deep.

I got some herbicide intended for emergent water plants. I expect it’s too late to dye this year but that should give me a head start next year with less grass ready to go near shore and less light low. But some fishs that eat it would be better yet.

Yeah that water grass got real thick as soon as the water level dropped so that the bottom flattens out at 2-3’ depth. Summer level is 16-24” lower than it was in the spring when I moved in, when it was still flowing out. Now it’s essentially at the water table. I didn’t have the transit level before I filled in the fence post holes  but my assumption is the pond is near where the water was sitting in them.

Waders oredered. I’m gonna spray the grass and remove it once it starts to actually die so it does t compost in the pond. No carp in stock now, probably stock those next spring.

I like the pond. I think it’s worth the effort and expense to keep nice. Still better than a pool.
