project vegetable garden
« on: March 10, 2020, 09:04:02 PM »
im thinking i might give a go at growing some stuff this year.  as a kid i did strawberries, tomatoes, onions, potatoes, peppers and a few others.

i am completely ignorant on this and need to do some research.   looking for large quantity from seeds i guess.  i have a 3 acre field full sun, water source from house or from greenway creek.  lots of deer, and of course need to maintain the race course :)

You're late!

I've been using these lights for seeds and on the aquaponics.  They work well, best bang for the buck I could find.  4' version is abetter deal if you have the space, which I'm sure you do. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZD2CB6V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Yeah, it’s sproutling time not seed time.

Gotta start somewhere if you’re gonna start though. Learning year.

If you’re thinking out in the field I think you’ll need some good fencing. The deer eat my plants, and they’re not even good food plants.

Me and Marie had a pretty successful first year with a big garden last year. It is actually really easy but the biggest thing is the bugs and animals which are a pain to keep away. If you can fence it in that helps a lot.

All I can picture is smike driving the buggy around with a set of draggs attached to it, while in muck boots, denim overalls, no shirt, and a straw hat.

Perhaps flag down the farmer on tractor in the field along the Erie station to do your field for a small fee?
