They “fit” with some spacers I had on the shelf from the allroad. Gets the inner sidewall clear of the strut. Makes the weird toe/ camber on the rear beam even more obvious.

Need to trim a bit on both bumpers, plus think about lifting it a half or an inch.

Stomper status again. I’ve been thinking of selling the allroad, after all…

More importantly:
Stock VW 16s are now freed up for the set of correct size snows for Sara’s Jetta now. Scored those for $160.

Serp idler disintegrated this morning.

Note: replace all fragile components if alternator fails.

Third trip in for serp parts in the last year and like 5-6k miles.

Driving this into work right now to deal with moving a bunch of crap. Brakes are a crime! If there’s any pad left by the time I get back home, I will definitely give that break later. It’s first exercise.

I’m pretty sure this is the fastest thing that I own is kind of shocking, actually, I had totally forgotten that it was quick. Shame it’s a front wheel drive economy car.

Figured out the on car brake lathe last night and turned all rotors. Setup definitely takes a minute but it’s pretty slick after that. Definitely not worth it for rotors that cost ten dollars, unless time is of the essence.

Ordered new cutting bits and doubled my investment. Back side of first rotor didn’t cut and it turned out it was missing the tiny cutting bit. Something from my big lathe worked in the interim.

While looking for parts, saw many for sale for about 10x my purchase price so that’s cool.

On my way home from Attica now. I haven’t driven it yet to see if I ruined the rotors somehow yet. I’ll judge awesomeness in an hour or so haha

Pedal hanging out a sneeze low and soft. Probably should have dressed the pads to match the fresh rotors.
No pulsing or funny noises though. Suspect some miles will have it in great shape.

Got a clearance improvement and some non studded tires on it for now. Burning off some old tires from moms Mazda. Rear beam alignment visibly real bad

Ac clutch slips unfortunately. Everything else seems to work right.

Brakes have been good!

unfortunately I’m shopping for a bypass-everything serpentine belt right now in NC. The cross-rack power steering lines rotted out and sprung a leak on the twisty roads down here. If I can find the right belt length, looks like I can catch the tensioner crank and alt only and be fully hood
