« on: February 22, 2017, 03:18:36 PM »
anybody have a suggestion for a small CB radio that I could perhaps hid behind dash or in a console?
I never wanted a red car.. always thought they were tacky and common...
I now have 4 very not common cars and they are all red.. :o

CBs generally suck but unfortunately it is still the most common form of two-way radio comms.

Best $0.02 advice in this area is that you do not loop or coil your antenna wire and use good connectors.

I'd recommend a nice race radio. They are becoming more popular and are capable of FRS.

This is what I had in my jk..

only remote mount I'm familiar with.

I'll second the VHF. race buggies all have them, we probably have a dozen handhelds between us now that still reach a mile or more

I put the 25w in my Jeep. It is much smaller and easier to mount than the 50w. It should still reach out a ways, but not as good as the 50w.

It all depends on what you are using it for.
