KOH Packing
« on: January 04, 2016, 11:06:44 AM »
Not a project in the truest sense, but a project of sorts.

What from my stash should we bring?
I'm guessing:
pretty fresh 10x10 blue tarp
2 bigger extinguishers
radio from 571 to teamtorq
2 handheld radios, chargers
couple extension cords, power strips

I could add:
portable compressor (the big blue emglo)
Honda 2k and pairing cables
2 smaller extinguishers

I'm also thinking a tool kit for handy tools in my pit would be useful instead of having to use onboard tools for anything.
Any specific needs/requests?
general thoughts
large crecent
large channel locks
large & med hammers
med pry bars
drift/punch
screwdrivers
pliers
D60 hub socket?
small through large inch wrenches
small through large inch sockets and ratchets
small through med metric wrenches, sockets

zip ties, electrical tape, butts, crimps, strips, wire, couple switches fueses and relays.

Pretty much my standard large buggy bag and electrical bag. Should cover trailer needs too if the toolbox gets buried.

trailer hub?
trailer bearings?
spare 19.5 SRW wheel & tire?
spare lug nuts? Size?

As far as tires for the cause, I think my 37s are worthless, but I do still have the one 40" classic MTR.

What else? I will attempt to collect, catalog, and deliver that which deserves packing this week...

I expect to have 4-5 duffel-equivalants of gear at departure time. Probably combo of duffels/garbage bags, rollerboards, radio ammo can. I expect not to bring that big black plastic tote I use unless you'd find it useful for spare shocks, shafts, etc.

I don't think I have anything useful in the way of spare steering or suspension parts. I think I do have a kinda OK alternator and a questionable power steering pump.

a trip to brads is on my list this week for trailer parts.

soft bags good to throw up in front of goose.
i added 8' of shelving in trailer also.  need to organize trailer after shop party and brolite is moved out of it.

The small totes might be useful? Not sure how the packing layout is looking.

research shows 55 gallon drums are smaller than "A maximum capacity greater than 450 L (119 gallons) as a receptacle for a liquid" and exempt from hazmat laws when used for personal use.  I believe thats a federal law.

FYI carrying a 235gal tote of veg oil does not meet this law.  lol

NY state, you can carry up to (4) 5 gallon fuel jugs, and / or up to 115 gallon "cargo tank".  greater than 115 gallons to 150 gallons requires placard.

Must have 10lb fire ext

Cargo tanks shall be constructed of a minimum of 14 gauge steel or 16 gauge aluminum. New tanks purchased shall not exceed 110 gallon capacity, and as such will not require placarding.

we would be good with 2 secured 55 gallon drums, but as we knew the 11 gallon jugs are not legal (probably in any state)
