I'm just plain crying. Intake mani gaskets made no difference. I'm pulling plugs.

Could be a hung lifter? I don't have a compression tester. Really behaving like a bad hole - and there did happen to be a nearly frightening amount of metallic fines on the oil drain plug.

I sure hope I get to pull the motor again to fix an internal issue or replace it, yessiree!!

Southbound! M4 lot camp-out 100% success. Honda untested. Suspicion of annoyingly long set and strike confirmed. Definitely not more than a tempermanant configuration.

Broke reverse. Sounds like gnashing gears or stripped splines. AWESOME.

gave this some thought on the way home.

id cut the car for in cab trans removal.

F this thing.

Id order a summit trans, and give the current to jim to look at with more time.

this is crazy.   matt has beaten his 400 with heat, i wish there was room in that car, bah

Reverse completely silent and ineffective when I got home. Got popup unloaded and coaxed the car into the enclosed.

Thinking about modifications to make stripping the interior quicker & easier, and allowing the trans out through the passenger compartment while also allowing for fit of th400/ 700r4/ 4l60/ 4l80. I think the very biggest hurdle to all of that is tcase proximity to the tail shaft. I don't know that there's enough slip to slide the joint in to clear. All other trans options are longer, too, I believe. So the case may need to move back 4-6" and gain a short driveshaft rather than one-ujoint drive.

Not that the motor doesn't have a lil tick and had iron in the oil, but I really hope at least the next motor can outlast several transmissions. A motor without the trans attached would probably be an easier removal too. Straight up, maybe even with headers and motor mounts still attached.

TH350 and 4L60E are very close in length measurement.

O/d would let lower axle gears be happier in low, and lower first and lower gears would make high useful. It would be a good improvement from that perspective.

I forgot to mention-the recon is dead. Solenoids make a sickly electrical noise, sometimes. That's it.

Needs a talon 9.5 replacement, and to go in the enclosed if I can fix it.

i wouldnt pay more than $200 for any " good" unit- they are all unknown cores.

TQ are usless for resale

if it was an easy install, would be worth the chance, but well...

bad luck.
