Title: cherokrapee
Post by: etk300ex on August 08, 2012, 10:35:11 AM
had to refill ac again sunday  ::)

starting last night oil pressure light on anytime under 1400rpm.  replaced the sensor a couple years ago, but that one just came on and stayed on, coming on at low rpm is a little scary :-\ valve train sounds fine tho...

dont buy any cutoff wheels other than dewalt

dont waste any money on high dollar impact sockets- the ones at HF are awesome.

Title: Re: cherokrapee
Post by: M4wdFab on August 09, 2012, 04:36:53 PM
well a lot of the stuff is junk, but id say with most of the non complex tools they are pretty good.

Gloves, hammers, impact sockets, pry bars, unitbits  all good.

Air tools are hit and miss, i have killed a couple air ratchets and other tools, but its really hard to match the price even with 2-3 replaements over life.  <and i only oil things never>

Drill bits, any abrasives, any cut off, or blades of any sort are all junk.
Title: cherokrapee
Post by: mr.mindless on August 09, 2012, 05:03:52 PM
Pry bars and screwdrivers are pretty soft just like the drill bits. Lacking in good materials and good heat treating.

Title: Re: cherokrapee

I don’t know wtf that comment means but I can only assume it has some derogatory connotation to Jews being cheap, money loving, controlling the world or whatever..

A little sensitive, but whatever…  I’ve dealt with it my whole life.. I guess that’s what happens when a good Jewish boy from NY picks up some redneck tendencies and enjoys them more than a round of golf... (oops.. I did it there myself huh?)

We all make comments about people that aren’t ourselves.. Jews, niggers, spics, wops, fags, crackers, mc’s, hillbillies, and other people..

I’m guilty myself of repeating the coined phrase about working on the land rover… “It was designed to be worked on by niggers and bush mechanics”

It just surprises me that when something is said in a general forum, where you know somebody of that group will read it  it means either one of two things…

1.  You are truly that stupid and use it as vernacular because you think it’s part of speech
2.  Or you really believe the meaning behind it…

or it could be that I find it a hilarious way to refer to arson, with no personal or collective malice intended.

option 3. I expect them to take it as the joke it was intended as.

I don't know how, but at midnight last night I managed to forget the hypersensitivity of the issue, and just thought it was funny.

Title: Re: cherokrapee
Post by: etk300ex on August 24, 2012, 09:08:47 AM
Well its not the pan.  Guess there is a sensor of some sort on the topish side of the trans.  Have to use a mirror to see it, dodge told him to check that when he tried to order the 4th or 5th pan gasket lol.

My driveway looks like a mass murder has taken place :-\

Interesting tid bit off the net

Quote
Another problem, at least through 2007, was the transmission filler tube o-ring leaking.  The “transmission cup plug adapter bushing.” The old ones had two white o-rings that were available separately; they all leaked and it looks like a pan gasket leak, there is a TSB from 2005 or 2006 about it. They superceded the O-rings to the whole bushing so you get a new plug bushing and O-rings, new black ones, already installed on it. The new design won’t leak.

Put a new rear  hub on this beast a couple weeks ago for wicked axle leakage.

and now.....the fuckin pinion seal is leaking :banghead:  Looks like its some kind or 8.25 variant.   Anyone know how to change one?  Do I need a puller or anything?  or should I just take it to the shop lol.

crush sleeve, otherwise same as any other.

easy way: mark the nut and pinion. remove, swap seal, reinstall and tighten until the marks line up. bam: same bearing preload.

update: new battery, new pinion seals, new pass rear hub twice (my own dumb ass fault), new fluid front, rear, and tcase

newest problem lol, the AC blows ice cold driver side, outside air on passenger & rear.  I googled but all the comes up is blend door issues, but I only have single climate control so I dont think it really applies.  I just did its bi-weekly charge on monday so its not low yet haha.  from the service manual it looks like it the same freaking ducts, specially the floor, i dont get it, guess i need to take it apart.  I see some non-sense about the expansion valve, whats that do?

Found this issue last night as there was apparently a concert a Cmac and we sat in traffic for 1.5 hours to go from the ymca to wegmans, maybe 2 miles, i was thrilled.

Post by: etk300ex on December 29, 2013, 10:22:05 AM
Brand new set of lug nuts on this hawg!  Got so sick of messing with the shitty tin covering that falls off then you need to pound a 17mm on and then work on removing it for another hour lol.

Both side ebrakes rebuilt

I think the leak in the rear hub is not the hub seal and actually the press fit cap in the end of the hub.  Pounded it in an 1/8" we'll see if that holds.

I see no way to get the o2 sensor out without dropping the exhaust.  Going to take a second look today.  I got one more day till the inspections due right? Lol

The resi is stained up to the full mark so I always thought it was full.  I will have to monitor it.  Needs a flush tonight, looks pretty grimy around the filler neck.
