Title: Dalai Lama
Post by: mr.mindless on October 09, 2020, 02:21:14 PM
Definitely a narrow use case. This needs new basket straps, and I learned that the tiedown needs to keep tires from going both fore and aft. Otherwise the car might want to fall off ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not easy to load a dead car onto for the first time ever doing so. Minor lessons learned there. Low height and short length makes it easy for a comealong load job though, which is nice.

Cant reverse with a car loaded. Parking lot maneuvers are cruel to it. The tires don’t turn THAT far and it scrubs tires and the car moves on the dolly.

Definitely meant for highway duty.

I have one I use for picking up Minis. They are useful for FWD cars and not much else.  ;D

I use to use one for my YJ and anything else I picked up..
Hated climbing under there every time to disconnect the driveshaft..

Was nice when I didn’t have space for a trailer or a vehicle to tow one..

Needs new straps,
Ruined the worse one completely, it got caught while unloading and cut on the strut. Ripped out an abs sensor wire from the sensor. Should have been more careful checking for tangles.

Stacked on the other project trailers for now. Love the forklift.

parts list for adding brakes. electric drums probably fine. neither wagon has a hitch now, and the allroad gets the same MPG as the Ram, so not much value there. TDI wagon would be the sole candidate.

Realized that I bet I can scavenge surge brakes from the popup. Changing a coupler is not as easy as running wires but much freer, and works on anything.
