I want it. You don’t need a finish mower, you’ve got the zero turn.

Be a perfect housewarming ;)

ill surely be upgrading to something larger at some point, but i couldn't pass this one up.  for 250$ more in negotiations package deal the finish mower was going on my trailer weather i needed it or not haha

moves around a full scoop of gravel pretty easy.  i feel like i need a seat belt and the seat 5" back need to investigate that.

Glow plugs bi passed to a push button, tack inop on dash, 3 point doesnt drop fast.  powers up fine but takes minutes to go down with or without weight.

could use a set of new front tires and investigate fluids.  full service was done 70 hours ago.  has 750hrs on machine.

You really don't want a seatbelt on that. Tractors get top heavy quick and if it starts to go, you wanna be able to get off of it asap.

I used to wear my seatbelt to hold me in the seat. With the ROPS, you'll be fine.

I miss my compact tractor...  :'(

im just not use to hydrostatic with my foot yet.   tends to want to throw you into the steering wheel.  has a clutch for high med low rang and PTO engagement.  otherwise forward or back go petal.  and i think a left and right rear brake?  and diff lock.

my ferris has a nice comfy foot platform

i also could tell in 2 min i have zero skill yet spreading gravel with a bucket lol

took it to the quarter wash and got all the cow shit out of the tires and loader.  now i can power wash it at my place.  then start looking at service areas/fluids and fix a few odds n ends

the trick to spreading gravel is in backblading, does it have an auto-float function like a backhoe does?

found another knob the adjust how fast the 3 point drops!  cant believe owner of 10 years did not know that when that was my only gripe at first inspection while makeing the deal that it wouldnt go down lol

Post by: M4wdFab on April 27, 2020, 10:16:53 PM
no auto float

made a 3pt trailer mover tonight out of scrap.  my new band saw is legit.  dont think i have ever experienced a faster way to cut 1/4wall 2" box.  its amazing.

used every new big tool in the shop.  lathe and mill for 7/8" hitch  points, band saw for box tube, BIG drill press to hawg some 3/4 holes in 3/8 plate with ease.

cub cadet:  162$ please for a air filter    :o

If you get a GOOD cross reference with threads and dimensions I bet you can figure alternate P/N that would work

Napa was able to cross reference all my Kubota ones for me.

Just for grins, pull the air filter out, there may be a Donaldson number or something on it.  I was shocked when I did that on the Kubota.

but how do you swing to the side to dump?  Seems very limited.
Title: Re: Cub Cadet 7265
Post by: M4wdFab on April 29, 2020, 04:24:01 PM
i think you just keep digging straight and it goes out the sides.  im sure its not glorous like an EX but probably gets the job done.  listed for 900$ on FB right now, instead of 3-5K for a 3pt unit you have to change seats to move...

Post by: M4wdFab on April 29, 2020, 04:25:02 PM
but like i said i thought it was neat, and if my bucket was converted to skidsteer quick attach, i could build one of those in a night or two with materials i have on hand....

It NEEDS to swing or you'll get annoyed quickly.

pull behind mower got service today.

looks like you can turn to sharp and the yoke and shaft got bend.  couldnt have been in service like that.

removed yoke and shortened shaft, heated and bent back yoke new moog 344 joint (odd ball size) and fixed the quick spline disconnect in the yoke with new made parts.

filled gear box
cuts great.

I borrowed a unit that towed like that once. I preferred it over the 3pt units except the ability to pick it up.

engine oil and filter change today.  Also fixed the Tach cable.  Little creativity and scavanging parts from a melted cable, and new same cable sheath as the PTO cables i throw out from my hot rod transmission cables i make, fixed!

almost wanted to pick up 1300lbs with forks on the bucket,  rear tires got light so i only picked one banded pile up at a time instead of both.  not a terrable way to move five 24' lengths of box steel.

steel prices must finally be down a bit.  paid 980$ for 1300lbs of prime in box tube, flat bar, and some sheets.  seems about 1/2 of what i paid last time i built flat beds

this thing is impressive.  supper happy.

able to use forks to lift bush hog to the back of the RAM deck, and then tractor and zero turn fit on the equipment trailer.

M4 landscape and property maintenance!

Did good work ripping horse fence out. Impressed.

I want one.
I’m out of fence to rip out but one with a midmount mower would be more fun than a zero turn in a way. But can’t beat a zt for mowing performance

did some brush hawging last night around the field.  thing is impressive.  3'tall thick grass and weeds it eats them and doesn't even phase the mower or tractor at a good speed.

love it.

i also enjoy the bush hogs rear discharge.  that's way better.  all mowers should be like that.

Post by: etk300ex on June 02, 2020, 12:35:05 PM
I had a Dynamark riding mower when I was a kid with rear discharge.  It was awesome to mow close up on either side.  I never understood why side discharge is a thing.
Title: Re: Cub Cadet 7265
Post by: mr.mindless on June 02, 2020, 03:00:03 PM
my big girl is rear. It's not even though and that makes me not like it. It leaves cuttings in 2 stripes, where the three blades overlap. I think it's worse than side discharge for leaving clippings piles, and I think it's a big source of my bogging in tall grass, since it just fills up inside the deck. I do love it for edging though.

man the new tiller works as a sweet counter weight!  bucket curl does some work now!
Title: Re: Cub Cadet 7265
Post by: M4wdFab on April 05, 2021, 07:27:33 PM
bah blew a bucket tilt hydro line today, meh.    need to figure out some fittings to just change all hoses over to cheaper easy hoses up front than bend over at the counter custom hoses
Title: Re: Cub Cadet 7265
Post by: M4wdFab on April 05, 2021, 09:07:22 PM
pulled stuff and measured stuff.

140$ order at surplus to change all 8 hoses on loader and convert to easy JIC hoses instead of custom hoses with mis matched ends.

great.

1hour in to google and still no clear sign of any fluid compatible with cub 737-3025 fluid.

ill do a full 6 gallon change if i can get a substitute, but i guess if im just topping off with the spend cub fluid it will get a couple new quarts only.
Title: Re: Cub Cadet 7265
Post by: M4wdFab on April 09, 2021, 11:14:31 PM
cant find any info on the net thats helpful for fluid.

really dont like 17$ a quart with a 6 gallon system   :(

Post by: M4wdFab on April 10, 2021, 05:18:13 PM
found it online for $115 a 5 gallon so 2 of those on the way.

figured out PN are different for quart, gallon, 5 gallon- that was throwing me

Title: Re: Cub Cadet 7265
Post by: mr.mindless on April 10, 2021, 05:22:29 PM
Much better!

I have a little fear of fluid prices when it comes time to put the backhoe together.
Title: Re: Cub Cadet 7265
Post by: M4wdFab on April 10, 2021, 05:27:48 PM
that you can probably throw universal tractor fluid in thats like 35$ for a 5 Gallon at TSC

cubs i guess are just picky and nothing really well documented.  i paid 90$ for two filters also on the way, bah.

but i figure i only ran about 10 gals of diesel through this thing, so it should be good for a while with all new fluids and filters and new hoses on the loader.

500$ for 5+ years of service meh

changed 8 hydro hoses, all worked as planned.

just on the add line on hydro stick so ill run it a bit and then when fluid and filters come in next week do that full 6gal change.

hydro and filters changed-  took 5 gallons so thats nice i have enough to do it again next time and didnt need to crack into a 2nd 120$ bucket

MFD gear oil changed

bush hawged out back after mowing today.

decided to tear apart the gear box in my brush hog today, found very near failure output roller bearing and no out put seal.  oil just was dumping out as fast as you put it in since i have owned it.  looks like someone at one point packed it with heavy grease so thats probably what has saved it.  not sure it would be functional for much more.

managed to find numbers on bearings and measure seals needed.  40$ to amazon here Friday yay.

grease job
added 2 quarts engine oil   :o
blew out air filter and radiator

hydro fluid still looks brand new from service when i got it and did it.

this thing only gets about 10 gallons of diesel run though it a season so its fine

has 2 or 4 seized grease fittings that i should deal with in loader.

bah, found a thorn in front tire today that decided to be flat and leaky.  odd time of year for that to show it self.
