Historical license plates are new plates issued by the DMV to a vehicle that was manufactured more than 25 years before the current calendar year that is used only as a collector’s item or exhibition piece, and not for daily transportation. The manufacture date will be based on the model year of the vehicle. 1
Some vehicles that are less than 25 years old and have unique characteristics can qualify for a historical registration. We will determine if the vehicle has historical, classic or exhibit value.
not sure if this is a 6month out appointment, or just some F behind the desk to look at a picture day of.
Id swap your insurance to HISTORICAL (must say on card) and wing it. what could possibly go wrong.

Talked to someone in Albany that actually knows what this exception is all about. She is mailing me the forms, you can not download the forms from the internet. Only Albany, not local DMV's, can determine less than 25 year old 'exhibit vehicles' an may require a visual inspection, photos and receipts. As the vehicle is owned by a corporation to promote products, and clearly is used for that purpose, and is a limited edition (LJ) I think we should be OK... but the process takes 30 days or more.

is inspection required for this rally race? do they still offer 10 day extentions..... or change the ownership to erik for 1$.... pay a title fee and change the plates ect... get a 10 day...
