Id like to set up a mill and a lathe in the "old" shop not sure a mill will fit.....
post up any links to deals
-
ive been looking for a bridgeport mill for a while.. they come up every now and then
-
my buddy just bought a bridgeport and a newer lathe.
i'll inquire about his old one. it may need a little work to get up and running. i'll get the deets.

something like that would be fine
-
That looks a little small, maybe a 6" ?

something like that would be fine
thats pretty much exactly what my buddy has
he knows all these prices. i'll have him see if thats a good deal

-
it'll be a challenge to get a mill into that space.
-
probably about the same as taking an ultra4 car in and out haha.
ya, ceiling height would probably be better in the shop, but im not sure i want to kill a Bay. for limited use like that. Make load and unload way easier though later.
-
A better solution than a wheelbarrow was for an engine may be required.
-
the janitor might need a cable tune up for that load
-
I can always hog the excavator out there if you need it also
-
whats a bridgeport weigh? 2500lbs?
-
that's the right ballpark.
-
next time the buggy is out ill put a face shield on and see if it will pic it up
-
picking it is "easy" compared to shoving it through a door with a 6" step and not tipping it over. It'll be a tight fit through the door in the first place, unless the boom could pick it from the middle somehow, under the head, without it being too top heavy to want to just flip over. Because that'd REALLY suck.
-
this guy still has it- hasnt had a single interest in it for months.

looks like a smaller lathe- but tons of good tooling, and a good starter.
cant beet the price.
i was looking at options in the shop last night. i have alot of shit- i think if i loose the bench by the door, a bridgport would fit just fine :) and put a smaller lathe on the middle bench. That way my bays arent killed. move the bolt bin to the front wall.
-
ha, price lowered today to 1250

newer more dollars

Digital and power feed? Sounds awesome.
-
3 phase power?
-
smike.. let me kow about the 1st one.. are you passing?
-
power was my first question im waiting on- mills are easy though with phase converters.
also asked on tooling and a vice- shit gets spendy when starting out.
power x sounds like- im not really a power feed guy- i tend to do stupid things that i need to have the "feel" to stop
-
keeping my options open- research says its an older one with british threads or something gay- id have to go look at it or talk to someone that knows stuff about them.
-
deff see some big bore and Jr contracting!
-
Let me know when ever and if you need my trailer to pick it up.
-
Nick will get his twigs under that thing and carry it right in!
-
Leg press it!!!
-
probably need the big bore to pick it up, load on trailer, deliver, and set.
-
19.5 fit on mine with the rubber attached. Those were 265's even. I will have to dig out the pics of me moving mine. The guy thought it was quite amusing.
-
Found them.....

I still have all of that Blue steel if you want to build your own.

That sucks.

That does suck sorry you keep picking shitty sellers

ya i guess i have to stick to rochester CL. wasn't a total loss- place was 2 min from my cousins house where there was a birthday party occurring, so i got free food, cake, and saw mom.
-
did you get pics of lathe in advance?
-
yes- pics are hard to tell size though when taken with no reference.
i honestly didnt think they made 3" 4 jaw chucks, how pointless
